That's atrocious. Other than spotting amateur hacksaw jobs I did always wonder if there was anything to distinguish these from the base and if people would take advantage of that.

I recorded the below video last week in an attempt to help get the word out. I picked one of the more obscure 97 star rubies cards to highlight "Team Skybox", to not divulge too much info (don't want the scammers to get better), but also to give people an idea of what they can look for.

I still think the best bet is coming to this thread to ask questions.

I thought base had gold hologram on the back and die cut had Silver, but I might be mistaken.

Any thoughts on the above seller's other cards? Has quite a bit of high-end stuff. Lots of 96 Legacy Row 0s.

Have a diecut copy but never bothered comparing the back holo to the standard. Sounds in line with what UD did though.

I'm not sure if there is a backdoor version of Dunk Masters Refractors but its serial number does look a bit odd to me, especially 1s. What do you guys think?

Hoping for some help here, purchased this recently and am always skeptical of ungraded copies. I have a few other CPMGs but all of them are graded so it's tough to look for similarities/differences in the card/serial number when one card is in a plastic slab and the other isn't. The CPMG refractor pattern on the front of the card looks normal, so it’s either a pretty well done fake or my concern is that it's a backdoored/bankruptcy copy with an after-market serial number. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

A shame to seek people falling over themselves for this one.

The under sticker appears to be from PWCC in 2022 (already kicked off eBay), so in addition to the card, also fake eBay authentication?

Really tough for the average collector to tell. Heck, I get fooled half the time and I'm no expert, but I feel like I have a decent working knowledge...
