That’s one of the things I wanna do with the site, but need to build up the port and get some consistent funds rolling through the account so I can get some PC stuff as well as some stuff to keep the port rolling. Great job building yours up! Maybe one day I’ll reach those heights lol

There's a typo in your Blowout information (under your picture) - the name of your COMC port is misspelled as Stevch36. I was trying to click on it and see what you had, and it kept taking me to the full site.

I'm trying to do a port sale - of everything in my inventory - and I can't seem to get it to work. I think it's suggesting I have to have all items for sale first, before I can put the port up for sale. Is that right? That seems counter-intuitive. I want to sell the entire port in one shot, not sell individual cards. How do I do that?

Thanks guys.
Having to price EVERYTHING really makes this a time consuming project for me. Right now I have nothing for sale. flyercle, thanks for your interest. My port is mostly NBA RCs of current stars or 2nd year base cards. 600+ LeBron cards. Some MLB and NFL. Many duplicate cards in the port. Dozens of nice high end cards. My original idea was to resell on COMC, but my interest are elsewhere now and I don't have the time. I'm interested in getting out 100% at this point. Looking for 10K. But I'd have to price everything so a buyer could see what is in the port. That's going to take time. Ugh. Items in Inventory 4,314 Total SRP $43,621.25 Items w/o SRP 380 |

Hmmm. Can you have more than one port for sale at the same time? I could do a "LeBron" port sale. And an "Anthony Davis" port sale. Jayson Tatum sale. Etc. It'll take time but still might work. If someone wanted it all they could offer for all the ports, right?

But you can only sell ports at the "category" level, not the player. (Unless some are from completely different timeframes, like Jordan 1984-2015 and Zion 2018-2023.) |

Sales have plummeted for me recently but that is to be expected since I haven’t had my most recent batch load. Going on 9 weeks with no movement.
Going to try to pick up more stuff on the site here soon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

+1 for this being a great thread.
Everyone here has a common interest in making $ by moving cards. Folks are willing to share parts of their strategies and that’s great. The rest of this forum is ripe with cutting each other down over differences in fandom, loyalty to players, etc. It is weirdo behavior. Now when does COMC release their darn app and get rid of the captchas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is there a way to get alerts when a specific card posts to COMC (much like you can on eBay)?
I'm looking to complete the name plate (By the Letter) of 2011-12 SP Authentic - Jamie Dixon (PITTSBURGH). I have the systemic alert set on eBay, just trying to figure a way to do it on COMC without having to manually check the site daily. |

There is an RSS option to watch new cards for players, but you will need an RSS reader (feedly is an online one, Outlook and Thunderbird are offline programs).
The link for Jamie Dixon would be https://www.comc.com/SearchFeed?Spor...Out=t&Sort%3dr There is also some stuff you can do with sites that will track changes to a page for you. |

So I've had a standard submission of around 400 cards sitting at COMC since February. I know there is a 16 week turnaround on those and they HAVE started the loading process of my stuff. About 125 cards of it so far have been loaded.
Here's the thing I find funny. I always keep a spreadsheet active of anything I submit to them just to make sure everything gets loaded. As I have been knocking off cards that have gotten loaded, I've noticed it's been predominantly all the smaller stuff in there getting loaded so far. $5 and under cards. I'd say 95% of the cards I sent in with $10+ values are still just sitting there. I know this isn't on purpose and they don't single out which ones they load and don't load. I just thought the disparity was kind of funny. Looking forward to having the rest of the cards loaded in. |

When it comes to the money aspect of it, I'm not necessarily in it to have funds in my pocket. I like the balance on COMC truthfully. There's a ton for me to choose from and I can just run at my own pace. Plus, it ensures I've always got funds for card purchases. As to why I chose this submission at the 16-week level, it was my first major sub to COMC, and I sent it to help build up my port. I knew I was going to be waiting a bit for the stuff to load and I was fine with that. I've sent in a few smaller subs while waiting for this one to load where I did the 2-week service. Gotta start somewhere right? |

Also, you dont deal with shipping cards sold. They ship them for you.

I agree that 16 weeks is far too long, and it doesn't do the seller or COMC any good for such a long timeframe. And be cafeful about sending $1 cards, as they might be 5-cent cards by the time they get listed.

Say I sell a card on COMC for $3 that would have sold on eBay for $3. eBay gives me $3 minus about 15% for fees minus about 60 cents for a flat envelope shipping (assuming I'm giving free shipping) minus about 15 cents worth of toploaders and envelopes and tape. I get $1.80 in the end. Or $2.40 if I'm making someone pay for the shipping. COMC gives me $3 minus 5% for fees minus 50 cents to list so I get $2.35 in the end. I usually recycle that $2.35 into something I want anyways, but I suppose if I wanted straight cash, it would be another 10% so I get $2.12. Plus I haven't dinked around scanning the card, putting in all the item specific category details that eBay asks for these days, and most importantly I haven't had to ignore people asking me "will you take $1 shipped for it?" or "this card isn't a PSA 10 so I want to return it" Colossal waste of time selling that kind of stuff through eBay, COMC can deal with return headaches for me. I send in 1000 cards, pay my $500 (with store credit, pre-10% taken off), and forget other than putting in my own price, even if it takes years to sell. How much is my time worth that I've saved not having to scan and identify and enter item specifics for those 1000 cards? It'd be many many hours. I'd do it for my high end cards, but for lower stuff, I'll always go COMC. |

Convenience is the key. I work full time and live in a place with limited space so I would rather not be shipping things every day. You also get less haggling and avoid the risk of your rating getting hammered by the wrong Karen buyer or a bad day at the USPS. I personally start at $2 or more unless the card is a sure sell at consistent prices like a Jordan, Mahomes or Ohtani. I also tend to avoid sending base cards(especially newer ones) since those seem to be more prone to competing with 10 to 50 other sellers, many of who are willing to race to bottom on prices down to pennies It initially felt like it was taking forever to build my port, but if your are sending things in standard shipping every four to six weeks, you end up getting a stream of cards coming in fairly consistently. If I stop buying cards and sending for awhile, I am still getting sales on COMC without doing anything for months. Right now what I sell pays for the hobby. I would love for it to eventually be more, but just started collecting again a year ago and am still learning on the fly. The fees for withdrawal are a concern and something to think about if things get more profitable, but for now, this works best for me. Last edited by dgrochester55; 05-23-2023 at 05:14 PM. |
