Terrible news indeed, I always enjoyed his insights and the way he thought about investing. Way to young!

I am so saddened by Jason's passing.

I reached out to his wife this evening and asked for their address as I want to send his daughter Katherine something in the mail.

I told her what a great member he was here and about my interactions with him.

I also told her that I was pretty sure that he had some valuable cards and that we as a community would point her in the correct direction if she ever decided to sell the cards.

I also asked if there was a GoFundMe or scholarship fund set up for Katherine.

If I hear back from Christine I will update this.

Rest well Jason

Prayers to his family, can’t stand people going so young, just makes me feel so bad.

Thanks Jon, I was hoping someone would contact the family.

Jason was a good dude, answered a lot of questions for me.

Absolutely terrifying that he was only 41.

Wow. Hope nothing but the best for his family. I have had tons of messages back and forth with Jason. Not just card/stock related but life, career, sports, anything really. Learned a ton from him and he was always open to discuss anything. He will certainly be missed.

I know his daughter liked Pokémon cards. Jon, please let me know if you hear anything back

I ended up selling out my entire AI position at high $36’s. This has been a great one to trade in 2023. If it goes back down I will likely be back in.

Anyone have any depressed stocks they are accumulating lately? Looking to start a new position in my Roth and always looking for suggestions.

I thought we were in a recession and that everyone is scared?? The market is doing great!

I went all cash about a month ago and missed out on this huge run

Shorting NVDA here. Insanely overbought on every time frame. Worth the risk.

Also trimmed TSLA a bit. Great run, but got to almost 40% of my portfolio.

Good call on trimming NVDA. I have a bit of that in my long term taxable account and also my Roth. I sold out my remaining Roth position just now but won’t touch the taxable.

I am doing the same using a different risk strategy. I am selling (STO) July 750 calls at 0.90 per contract and above to collect the premium instead of shorting the stock directly. I get to keep the premium as long as NVDA is below 750 by July 21st 2023. Extremely unlikely to make another ~100% run in 2 months. My guess is it consolidates in the 360-450 area for a few more months. I will likely sell more July 750 calls if it rallies towards the 450 area in the next two weeks.

NVDA drops 4% from the morning highs and the July 750 call value drops from 0.95 to 0.5 per contract. A nice intraday gain of ~45%. I bought to close (BTC) some of the July 750 calls that I sold for 0.90 in the morning for 0.50 just now.

Was it worth waiting for the last 10% drop to my buy zone when they were both at 83? Sometimes it is better not to chase the last 10-20% downside when you know the long term upside is likely 100%. Time in the market is more important than timing the market. Are the majority here still looking for 3000-3250 in S&P?
Glad I did not wait for another 10-20% drop in Alphabet and Amazon to initiate a position in my brokerage account. Not sure if we are going to see sub-80 levels on them.

If I may ask, what’s the point in owning 1 share of those other random companies when 99% of your holdings are 2 names?
