[QUOTE=mjohnatgt;18888732]Usually the first one to be moved over gets picked for the listing in both nonsports (1 active maximum). Once that one sells, it seems pretty random on which one then gets picked.[/QUO
I just checked a random epack hockey card. There are 18 available on comc, with 3 of those available on ebay (https://tinyurl.com/5n7xz7n4). It appears as one listing but you can choose between those 3 copies by clicking on the drop-down bar next to where it says 'specific item'. I checked a different random epack card yesterday and there were 4 copies of that specific card available. I'm just wondering if there is any rhyme or reason behind how many comc makes available via ebay, and which ones. |

Appreciate your efforts, but I've been on COMC quite a lot this weekend and am not noticing any difference.

Sometimes when I navigate away from the site then go back it appears Im signed out. I just click on the COMC logo on the upper left and Im still logged-in. It seems to refresh the session. If youve been away for too long it of course requires a new login.

Does anybody know how COMC determines which cards will be cross-listed to eBay? Specifically, cards of which there are many copies on COMC's site (i.e. ePack base). I've seen several examples of there being, let's say, 60 copies of an ePack card listed on COMC's site, but only like 8-10 copies of that same card on COMC's eBay page.
I'm not convinced it's random, but I believe the factors involved are probably so complex that it might as well be. First there's the decision of whether to cross post the card at all. My understanding is that COMC gets a certain number of listings from eBay, and they are sometimes given additional listings. eBay rewards them for having a certain percentage of successful listings, so some of those decisions are probably based on recent sales history, searches on eBay or COMC, whether it was recently processed, how long it's been since the item was last listed, what kind of attributes it has (example, signed, rookie, memorabilia, numbered), and so forth. Then there's the decision of which cards from a particular bucket to cross post. This might have to do with which ones are the cheapest, which ones were recently modified, or even the item number, sorted ascending or descending. As mentioned, in non-sports, they only cross post one item at a time. In other instances, they might cross post more copies of a rookie card than a base card. Other factors might also be important. Last I checked, about 20% to 25% of my overall sales on COMC come from eBay. I think it's good to be mindful of eBay, and it's probably best practice to price items to be competitive with eBay (at least, other eBay Buy It Nows from large sellers), but I'm not sure it's worthwhile to fret over whether this particular item or that particular item is cross posted at the moment. |

So I've had a submission sitting with COMC for 4 months now, yes I used the standard service for my first big submission. About 3 weeks ago, they were SLOWLY adding cards, anywhere between 2-7 per day. My submission is due today, so I hit them up on chat yesterday asking if they were going to get it done in time or if I could expect some discounts yesterday. I was told they would most likely have it done in time.
Fast forward to about 8pm CST last night and bang, 168 cards are magically uploaded to my account. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. All I know is they had to have those things scanned and ready to load, then 48 hours before due date they just pop. Either way I'm happy, and now have a heck of a lot more inventory lol. |

Have anybody tried submitting trading cards and tcg cards on a single submission, instead of two submissions? I was hoping to submit on a single submission so that I meet the minimum $10 requirement.

They'll just split them apart when they open them as if you had created the two submission types and charge appropriately.

I could see this being very bad. Break with COMC, they waive the submission fee to list the cards you get, and then every base card has 900 copies listed for 5 cents each.

COMC is a little late to the breaker game, but I think its a good idea if they price them right and do offer select promotions for free or discounted listings on the COMC site. Should draw some new interest / buyers to the site. |

I just hope that if and when this happens they resource it appropriately, and we don't end up back at 30 week processing for orders and 6 months to get something shipped out because everyone there is dealing with breaks.

It was fun to do, because we could open boxes and check out cards but without the expense...the "joke" was if someone ever opened a box with a huge hit during one of these recording sessions, then you'd end the video, go buy a duplicate box and open that new box for the video...thankfully, the break idea died before it got too big and that kind of thing never happened.

I wonder how this would go on comc. If I pay for a break and pick the Tigers (the example shown), I would inevitably end up with a lot of base cards. What could I do with Those Austin Meadows and Javier Baez cards? The scenarios that I see are.
1) Pay a few dollars to ship them to me and add them to my ever increasing hoard of boxes. 2) Pay 50 cents to list them for 5 to 20 cents 3) If they let you list them for free, they end up like the upper deck epack cards where someone is always selling them for 1 to 3 cents. I would assume that there would be some type of shipping or listing related incentive with it. If this is going to work, COMC would have to figure out a way to make it stand out from the countless breakers on youtube and tiktok. I am curious to see what they end up doing. I will be disappointed if they start using the platform for breaks.

One of the things I appreciate most about this hobby is that there are so many ways to enjoy it, including many that I'm just not into. Set building, ultra modern, player collecting, flipping, trading, etc. etc. etc. This diversity of interest is a strength of the hobby. Breaking is part of that and while I did a few many many years ago, I discovered it's not something I'm interested in. But I recognize that a decent amount of people are, and if COMC adding breaks to its offerings helps keep the site and the hobby healthy, I'm all for it.

It would reassure me somewhat to learn that they were doing this out of somewhere other than the Seattle metro area. Even with an option to submit some or all cards to the site, cards could be scanned, reviewed, listed, and labeled anywhere and then bulk shipped to the main warehouse for storage. And that site could be grown to be a secondary hub for processing so that COMC can reduce its reliance on the (difficult for this sort of business) Seattle labor market.

I personally have no need for breaks but if done right, it could bring a nice influx of desirable cards onto the site that otherwise might not make it (and I can buy for my PC).
Topps Gilded is a gorgeous product and I’d love to add Giants cards for my PC so if products like this are being broken (as opposed to Topps flagship), I’ll be cautiously optimistic. But if it slows down essential services like processing or shipping, then not only have you missed the breaking boom but will also negatively impact the overall experience to serve a very small group of users. |
