Told me I had my choice (hoping he's not BSing). What to go with? Im leaning towards the HH or Blantons but not sure. Never had a "corn whiskey" or Blantons, can get a 12 year Knob creek for around $70 at another store so not sure if its worth it to pay the extra for the 15-18 year. What are your thoughts?
I’d go with HH20 yr Regular Blantons just as good as the gold and it’s a lot cheaper

Even if you don't think you want the HH20, you could trade it for one or multiple bottles of whatever you want.
That's what I was thinking as well as far as trading down the road for something, I like HH a lot but not sure how I feel about it being corn whiskey, probably would prefer the 17 year bourbon they put out last year.

Good to know, I was debating the Blantons simply because I haven't been able to get my hands on any around hear. Only seen it once but they were raffling it off and you had to buy store pick bottles to enter the raffle. Wasn't going to waste my money on bottles I've never heard of.

Nice, it seems the farther away from KY you get the easier it is to find good bourbon. I literally live 3 hours away from most of the distilleries and struggle to find anything special unless I drive down there. Even then you have no idea what will be available when you get there. Crazy!

Tough to say with secondary prices all over the place around the country. Eht barrel proof is much rarer and more sought after. Regular Blantons plus $400-500 would be my guess for a trade.

Scored big time last week!!! Paid a bit more than expected at $375 but well worth it IMO.

As for the above about trading the EHT, Id much rather keep the EHT. Much better than Blanton's and harder to come by.

If that Larceny is the c922 I really enjoyed that one. I did a 4 bottle blind recently and it barely beat out the new Stagg for my favorite.

I think it's the B523. Will double check later.

I am still waiting on Stagg. My last bottles were 16 and 17.

Nice to know, that was my plan in the first place to trade/sell for something I really wanted. I like HH but wasn't sure on the Corn Whiskey but figured a 20 year limited release was still worth it one way or the other.

If anyone is interested and in the Indiana/Chicago area let me know

It's VERY dry and oaky ... not overbearingly so, but in a corn whiskey you're hoping for some sweetness and ... man it's just not there.

I'm not kidding ... I would drink $17 Mellow Corn (4-year Heaven Hill corn whiskey) over this.

I probably don't have any comparable unopened bottles (and based on the posts above probably shouldn't be interested in a trade) but I can't help myself in at least asking what type of bottles you are looking for.
