Took a flyer on two hobby boxes at $55 per. Can't get hurt too bad at that price. Some of the inserts look really cool to me, and if these ship out asap, the hits I don't want to keep should sell decently well in that window before wide release. Look forward to seeing everyone's hits!

I hesitated too long. I regret it now.

Yeah, with no checklist or odds, I sort of wanted to want this, but just couldn't.

Checklists shouldn't even sway people any more. They'll list Portman, McGregor, Ford, Ridley... which are all great but so rare they don't even bear mentioning.

And unless I missed it, is there no guarantee of a hit per hobby box? I hope that's just an oversight, but if true certainly raises the likelihood of a massive bloodbath.

I was surprised by the low pricing. I missed a case by *that much* and it sold out before I could click into the item.

I'll buy in if the prices are low like this one.

Can someone explain why the original Topps Star Wars series is not considered the "first flagship"? This is more like "first modern flagship", isn't it?

Yeah… I’m not seeing checklist for this specific set? The bulk checklist has other SW products but not this one (yet at least). If someone sees it can they please post a direct link?

Price is solid, but the reason for the "super rare" hits is that this stuff will be printed into oblivion. Buy a case of this for the price of a couple boxes of older stuff and end up with the same number of hits.

Yeah the checklist shouldn’t matter at all with this one. This is being released as an old fashioned set builders set. Topps basically refers to this several times on the solicitation sheet. It’s the kind of set I’ve been asking for for years but I completely understand this won’t be well received by those that only care about the hits. I wish the “hobby” boxes were $5-$10 cheaper but I think blaster cases will be a good value with the Gold foil board parallels.

The checklist isn't just about the hits, though. I'm a big fan of the original trilogy. The sequel trilogy and the live-action TV shows, still a fan, but a bit less so. The prequel trilogy and the cartoon stuff, basically not at all. So I wouldn't want to buy into a product only to later find out that it's heavy on prequels/Clone Wars/Rebels/etc.

Hell, for all we know, every card other than the ones they've previewed is from the Holiday Special!

Just can't get excited about any Star Wars product that has the new stuff in it.

Considering this is the "First Flagship" Star Wars product and Topps admitting that some of the inserts are Short Printed, and the price point, I imagine this will be similar to what Opening Day is/was. Lots of base and random hits.

Get ready to tell that to a lot of people who pre-ordered this and will be opening hitless boxes.

Personally, I think this set is a cool idea and something they should've done a long time ago. BUT modern collectors (i.e. those who've come on board within the last 3 years) don't think the same way. That's why there appear to be parallels and SPs out the wazoo.

I hope I'm wrong and there is some kind of hit in these boxes. Otherwise, Topps/Fanatics is in for an earful once these land.

Bought 2 "Hobby Boxes" due to a good price and the chance that they might have some good stuff in there. I am expecting just a 24 pack blaster with a widevision card inserted in there.

If it's anything like F1 flagship it should be pretty bad even at $55

Big ups to Topps for going live with these at 9am, right when they said they would. I usually miss these drops because I'm at work when they happen. I got
these, and I was only about 10 minutes late to work.

Since I was ready to spend around $200 for 2 boxes, it was a pretty easy choice to get a case for $400 instead. Happy to get 8 of the widevision cards at once. I've been a big fan of those since the originals in the mid 90's.

Good luck on your pulls, those who pre-ordered.

I think this is all a bit endless, and all these different collections use all the same stills. I like my Jedi 40th collection, but wont do this.

I find the Weiss Schwarz Star Wars more attractive as it is more creative, but that too mixes the different versions and I don't care for the new stuff as much as original trilogy.

so what, we're gonna have 23 star wars chrome, 23 star wars flagship, 23 flagship chrome? why would you buy this when you can find 23 chrome for $120 a box?

Looks like all 3 options are sold out but not sure how many of each they allocated for preorder.
