It probably wouldn't hurt to add another solid arm at the deadline. Even if we don't add anyone of note, we've got some internal options with our starting depth. (Soroka could see some more time. He's definitely not getting starts over Wright or Fried.)
Fried is still a few weeks away. Who knows when Wright is coming back. Allard is done for the year. The regression seems to have started for Elder. Soroka should get a few starts. As of right now, the only safe spots in the rotation are Strider and Morton.

As far as the pen goes, I don't think Chavez is the answer for the replacement to Nick Anderson.

I don't think it's panic time yet either, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple arms traded for.

11 teams scored 10+ runs today currently (Twins could be the 12th), 4 of those teams lost. Based on a tweet from Sarah Langs, that hasn't happened since July of 1894

Who’s buying Braves/The Battery stock today, now that it’s de-coupled from Liberty and despite that performance last night?

we need to add a starter and solid middle relief pitcher at the deadline, or there's no way we're going to win a WS this year.

we have a softball offense than can go crazy, but other than a few guys here and there, our pitching can be really suspect.

The catching corps is staying the same for 2024. Another $8 million for next season with a $8 million option for '25. Factoring in the prorated 2020 season, the Braves have paid $8 million every single year.

I love it. In the past 2 seasons, the Braves have had 3 All-Star catchers.

I know it’s been said before but Ozzie just has so many weak, worthless, non-competitive swings from the left side. Chipper said it on the broadcast earlier this year about how he struggles getting the barrel through the zone from that side.

Also lmao at them giving the error to Luetge instead of Olson tonight.

AJ Minter hurt
Nick Anderson hurt
Dylan Lee hurt
Jesse Chavez hurt
Kyle Wright hurt
Max Fried hurt
Tyler Matzek gone
Ian Anderson gone

The top team in baseball by the way.

I think the organization needs to think about putting Smith Shawver in the bullpen. I wasn't in favor of him starting games but he could be a big time weapon in the pen this season.

I was fully on board with giving Smith Shawver the Spencer Strider treatment earlier this year.

Sounds like we could see Fried as soon as the Boston series. And based on what they said about Wright last night, I'm not really expecting anything from him this season.

With so many pitchers in the organization being hurt, is this something that points to the pitchers themselves or the pitching/strengthening staff for not having the right exercise regimen/recovery programs in place. I don't see a lot of other teams with pitching injury issues as much as I see it on the Braves. I may just be paying too much attention to them but it always seems to be our weak link.

Finally taking a toll after over usage early in the season?

I’d rather take our lumps now with a 10 game lead in July…when we have time to get healthy, settle in and get hot for the end of the season & postseason run.

The team definitely needed that comeback. Austin Riley coming after that player of the week award, 4 homers, 11 rbi in the series

Yeah nice to see us pull that one out late.

Riley is on fire all of a sudden.

Strider was amazing and then just lost it in the 7th sadly.

Big series this weekend. Brewers' pitching has been lights out since the break.

Just get us some pitching. Best offense I've ever seen.

Of course all the attention is on Riley but let's not overlook Olson continuing to destroy baseballs. This offense is so fun.

This pitching staff needs help at the deadline.

I think we see trades for a starter and a bullpen arm.

Outside chance that they pick up a right hand hitting left fielder and go with a true platoon with Eddie. I don't think we see a back up infielder move.

No doubt. Just think if Olson cut down his Ks and put the ball in play more.

I know everyone always compares him to Freddie but they aren't the same type of hitter at all.

I'd like to see the Braves trade for Justin Lawrence. Living in Utah we get all the Rockies games and he's their best relief pitcher. I honestly think they need a couple more relievers.
