Popped!
PSA 9 Christian Braun True Gold #/10 Prizm RC
PSA 9 Lamelo Bronze #/20 Prizm RC

Was expected. Was hoping an easy grader might give a 10. But can’t complain.

Grades popped today.... and they kicked an Alex Ovechkin auto WHICH WAS SIGNED AT A PRIVATE SIT DOWN SIGNING A COUPLE MONTHS AGO for 'questionable authenticity'. I understand that PSA is the king for resale, but the whole process is so frustrating.

I also am having a Ovi Auto problem with PSA/DNA. Care to share a picture of the card in question?

Yes they are running at about 2-3 weeks to Enter orders on the lower tiers right now.

Here is the one that was kicked back... in an order of 5 other Ovie autos, all from the same signing. Have sent in for lots of Ovie signings and his auto was super sloppy this last signing, they all have a lot of variation.

It definitely isn't the nicest Ovie auto (he messed up the ending of the 8) which is likely why it was kicked back. Sucks when his signing fee is so damn high and this is the result.

Also a kick in the nuts cause it was submitted for dual service, so I assume they keep the fee to 'grade the card' even though it wasn't slabbed.

Maybe longer I called customer service last week and they said they have everything and it should start moving any day! Order arrived June 15th. Still on step 1, not even entered yet.

PSA is a clown show. I’ve had 4 orders graded and returned from SGC since I sent this one. Three of the four I sent to SGC in July!

My response to their customer service Instagram link…useless, as usual.

Very strange. I sent in two orders to PSA (February monthly special) within a week, splitting the orders to try and avoid a double GOD assignment. The order that was entered on 3/2/2023 was done the first week of June; the order that was entered on 3/14/2023 just hit QA Check 1 today. I'm not sure why two essentially identical orders would take such radically different amounts of time to go through grading, but I'm glad to finally see some movement.

I sent in an order and clearly put on the form what set/year my card was from. It was an added card into the product, not making it onto the pack out odds- which is very common for Upper Deck products. Apparently they didn't have a SKU for it, but did have a SKU for one of the copies of the card making it into a BuyBacks set years later.

So they changed the set/year to the buybacks set. I went back and forth emailing them many times before they told me they checked with their professionals and I was wrong. I put all of the notation on the submission form in advance to avoid all of this, as I saw there was a SKU for the card before submitting.

Fast forward to them asking me for "proof" that the cards were from the year/set, and I promptly showed them copies of sales for years prior to the cards release in the "buyback" set, as well as clear proofs from the checklists on the internet.

The order went from grading to assembly the day after they asked for the proof. So I let them know theres no way I'm paying for these cards if they are mislabeled, as I've spent so much time on this and I've already provided proof that the cards aren't from the sets they are labeling them as. I got a response that the order was flagged to be recalled and that it would jump around stages. That was promising to hear, as it seemed like that was a clear indication that it was being handled.

After that, the order seemed to be paused but did not jump around, and a couple days later it was completed. I have been trying for 2 weeks now to get a response to make sure that the cards are properly labeled before paying. The payments department apparently cannot confirm this, and the person who had been responding every couple days has went completely AWOL.

PSA grading seems to be at a very low level of competence right now. From the ever changing and confusing case sizing for semi thick cards, to the total inability to recognize what set/year a card is from (which is super easy for any serious hobbyist), the worst is customer services mishandling of very simple issues. Every issue I try to point them in the correct direction from the start to get things handled, and they always (every single time) state that I'm wrong and then the process takes months longer than it needs to.

My membership expires in 21 days and I decided to make one last submission to PSA. I had 1983-84 Lakers Star team set with the Worthy XRC and wanted it slabbed for awhile. Sent in the Magic (has a bad top border and won't grade high), Kareem, and a few other Star cards that have a chance to grade a 9 like the Byron Scott. Sent in a few other 80's rookies that weren't expensive cards, but carefully selected them to see if one could gem.

How do you see the exact dates for all the stages of the process I see others putting down here? I can't see it anywhere online, maybe it's just on the app or something?

I've been checking the site regularly and know my 90's special order (mailed June 12th) went into QA2 2 days ago ... I know timeline is not exact but when will order ship and/or grades pop, any day now right?

Pretty happy overall with this one. Pre-graded 19 10's, popped 23. And the "worst" cards for the most part are the ones that got 9's. Mix in a single 6 on a Trevor Lawrence Pink Optic lol.

For you guys that have gotten back bulk submissions, what service does PSA use to ship your cards back?

Grades popped from 90's special, delivered to PSA 6-14 ... 130 cards total and unfortunately I got a strict grader ... Looked over them all pretty closely, turned away a ton of cards to not risk getting 8's & below ... About half of the cards had a 50/50 shot at a 10 in my eyes (in other words 9 worst case), but my grades were ...

10's - 8 (cheaper cards too)
9's - 44
8's - 52
7's - 19
6's - 4
5's - 3

What's unfortunate is I graded 18 Kobe low-end rookies and got hammered on those for example. Was expecting roughly half 9's / half 8's as these were really sharp rookies - Fleer, Hoops, SP. Got only 4 9's, and several 5's/6's/7's. Just brutal. This has me rethinking my grading strategy. The market for PSA 8's & 9's (let alone lesser grades) just isn't there to justify $15/card. For example, most Kobe low-end rookies may sell for just $50 in PSA 9 (And $15 raw); just not worth it to send them in if graders are being super strict to even give away 9's. I may stop grading cards with values < $50 raw from now on ... For most of the other cards I sent in, 9's would be "break even" - 10 is profit, so really disappointed right now but what can you do. Not sure what I'll do with the 5's, 6's, and 7's I got ...

My last order last year of 80 cards had only 2 8's in the whole order & I think 30-40 10's. Guess I should have listened to those saying to split up the cards into multiple orders.

Quick question. If I finalize my PSA order for the 1980s special on Sunday, Can I mail it in a week later or does it need to be postmarked before the end of the month? I'm waiting on three cards I want to add to it that should arrive next week. Luckily, these cards don't need to gem to be worth sending in, so I don't have to worry there.

It needs to arrive to PSA within 30 days of the order submission to them.

Just to note, it seems the last night of any special, PSA's web site gets slammed, and often the entries don't populate so you may want to finalize an order a day before the last day, just in case. Just what I do.
