All cards were 90's basketball, originally pack pulled by my father in law and I only sent in cards of significance that I thought would get an 8 or above. 6 cards got upcharged, including one which got bumped to $300. A Kobe card which is a notoriously tough card to grade that I thought would get a 5 or 6 because of surface issues was given an 8. Overall I did better than I had anticipated. 10 - 15 9 - 27 8 - 24 7 - 1 6 - 1 (Looked mint to me but it's a die-cut)

I subbed back in March for the vintage special. It moved to Assembly in mid-July but has been stuck there since then. Anybody else dealing with similar wait?

It’s become pointless to track this stuff anymore. Completely random. Can ship a 96 card order out a few hours after pop, but can’t get 7 cards out the door 2.5 days later?

Are value or even value plus consistently faster than value bulk? Would like to get my cards back in about a month for before football season but no point paying an extra $21 for the same max declared value if the speed isnt significantly faster.

I don't know if this factors in but 22 of the 28 cards were already in the system with a spec#, and many commonly graded. The ones not in there are pretty mainstream cards. So - maybe it shot through faster? I'm guessing here.

I'm dealing with a similar Q2 situation. Almost at 2 weeks. There are some up-charge candidates, so I'm hoping that's the delay, but it still doesn't make sense. Why on earth would it take weeks to simply charge someone more?

As you might have guessed, I had a fair amount of Purdy in there. I got the non-Purdy exotic ones "pre-Spec'd" by PSA and the only other ones were base National Treasures RPAs.

to get Taylor Swift tickets for my wife, than it is to reach PSA. Then, when you do reach them, customer service is almost never helpful. They usually just read a canned script that says “we don’t have actual timelines.” In my line of work, if I kept a client‘s file for 6 months and refused to take calls about said file from 5 minutes after opening, I would probably be arrested or at least sued into oblivion. It’s hard to believe it is even possible, but I think the current ownership has actually made PSA worse than it was before. |

It almost feels like the baseball writers and the HOF voting. Until the old guard is completely gone, nothing will change. As long as they are still around and have a ton of money in the industry with PSA slabs, PSA will continue to be king of as far as gaining monetary value when slabbing a card. |

I called their customer service a few days ago. Here's a simple breakdown of how that went... - Recording said there were 151 people in the queue ahead of me and gave me the option to wait or get a callback - Most popular grading co in the world by a mile = understandable. I chose callback. - PSA Called backed a few hours later. - I asked my question. Girl on the line answered it and was eager/offered to walk me through PSA's website to find info I was needing about my order and explained when, where, and why the info I was looking for would populate as the cards moved down the chain. She didn't rush me off the phone. She was super nice and on the ball and she offered to answer any other questions that I thought of during the call. ^ What the F is the problem with the call back option for a long queue? It works just fine. Are you having a baseball card emergency? NO. You're (most likely) having a temper tantrum over baseball cards you need/want to flip for cash. - For the love of all things sacred stop calling PSA and banging your little drums or clapping your hands in their faces about "How long will my order take" and then clutching your pearls when they tell you to go pound sand. If your order was in some abnormal state they will take care of it. If not... it's back to sand pounding for you. YOU are the reason the queue is so long. YOU KNOW THE DEAL WHEN YOU SEND CARDS IN TO PSA. Stop acting like this is some new absurdity to you and start acting like me. I'm a man! I'm 40! ![]() Seriously, though, there's an old saying that's a play off of the engineer's triangle: Good, Fast, Cheap - You can only have 2 of the 3. You got CHEAP: PSA prices are way way down and continuing in that direction. And you got GOOD: PSA is the most profitable and most collectible card for anyone grading to sell or keep. There isn't a better option. FAST got sacrificed. Learn to love it or find youself a fast & cheap 3 letter acronym'd alternative. Plenty of them are out there. |
