Clark Shaughnessy took a garbage formation from the 1800s, that was abandoned by football coaches decades before him. And added a twist to it.

He set up the modern passing attack, by having the QB take the ball from center. And having a player then run in motion presnap. All things that we still see today, as Shaughnessy's T is still be using in some elements nearly 100 years later.

How good was it? When the Bears 1st used it in the 1940 NFL Championship game. They beat the Redskins 73-0.

Out of this list give me Ken Anderson, Sterling Sharpe, and either McMichael or Gradishar.

For the Coach give me Marty over the old pervert Kraft.

And I saw that nearly everyone with 6 or more total AP's, are either in the Hall of Fame. Or just aren't eligible yet. Except for Logan Mankins.

Mankins has 6 All pros. Was a 1st round pick. And is pretty decorated.

NFL 2010s All-Decade Team
New England Patriots All-2000s Team
New England Patriots All-2010s Team
New England Patriots 50th Anniversary Team
New England Patriots All-Dynasty Team
PFWA All-Rookie Team (2005)

And even though he has been eligible for the Hall since 2021, he has been passed over so far. I know we all think of him as part of the Patriots Dynasty, and he was. But how many of you knew he never actually won a ring?

Forgot, not too shabby:

7× Pro Bowl (2007, 2009–2013, 2015)
I hope he gets in one day, but I don't know that it will be before senior commitee. Hated that his career was bookended by Superbowls. One before he was drafted and one after he moved on to the Bucs.

Plus, I'm not sure all the team awards are that meaningful, but even without all that, he has a case.

I have no predictions on the Hall of Fame, just preferences. At this point, most of those guys are fairly deserving.

Well I don't think any us expected the coach/contributor name to end up being Buddy Parker who was the last HC of the Lions to win a NFL title.

Not a huge surprise though considering he was a finalist in the centennial class

So glad I picked him up a while ago. Have him in the 77 TD set...but think I have an index of him somewhere too.

Was hoping Sterling Sharpe would have got in but not this year.

The three Seniors named Finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2024 are:
Randy Gradishar
Steve McMichael
Art Powell

I want Sharpe to go in the same time Hester does so we can both be mad .

Gradishar is a good pick. I'm too sentimental about McMichael to be objective about it but I'm really happy he's a finalist. I'm not familiar enough with Powell.

Seems like good odds all 3 make it in.

To get elected to the Hall of Fame, they must garner 80 percent of the vote from the 50-member Selection Committee in January.

Since 2010—in years in which there have been a maximum of three Senior finalists—all 21 Senior finalists have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The last time a Senior finalist failed to gain entry was Clyde Humphrey in 2009.

Sharpe could wait awhile I still think part of reason he is not in was he was a a-hole to media during his playing days so that I think is part of why he has not gotten in yet.

I feel like McMichael is more of a sentimental pick. Feels like the Ken Stabler pick. Although, McMichael is more deserving in my mind than Stabler was. Only two pro bowls, but in the top ten in sacks for DTs. So won't really feel out of place in the HOF. This would make three of the front four of the 85 Bears defense in the HOF.

100% agree. It wouldn't be glaring to let Mongo in. Clearly they made a case for him. But he certainly doesn't jump out as a Hall of Famer. And I love the man. The 4 All pros are nice, the 2 Pro Bowls stick out though. But to be fair, there really wasnt that one dominating DT of the 80's. You had Randy White, who was awesome. Then its watered down from there.

Maybe Dan Hampton I guess. Then Mongo is mixed in with the likes of Keith Millard, who really only came on at the end of the 80s. And Dave Butz, who won 2 super bowls as well.

But no one is talking about Millard and Butz for the Hall. And they made the All Decade team over McMichael.

That's why they punished Terrell Owens too. A total non-reason but I understand the vindictive motivation. If that's the reason they are keeping Sharpe out, then I want him in now.

Sometimes a dude just wants to ball out, get paid, then go home without giving the same sound bites that everyone else does. I think Marshawn Lynch did the media stuff the best.

Beast was good! But Moss crapped on the media even better! Anyone remember when he would only interview himself? He would stand in front of the media, ask himself questions, and then reply to himself.

They let Moss walk right into the Hall. The same way they will let Rodgers walk in, and the media hates that A-Hole too.
