Default Best concert experience

Just got home from easily one of the best shows I've ever seen. Phish brought out Derek Trucks in the second set of an already outstanding show and blew everyone's minds.

So I'm wondering for the people here, what's your favorite concert memory?

And also, which artists would you most enjoy seeing jamming out together if it could be arranged?

Beastie Boys at Budokan in Tokyo was great. Iron Maiden in Tokyo also way up there.

Sly and the Family Stone- El Paso TX. A great live show, much better than any recording.

Easy. Rammstein. Been to close to 50 concerts since the 90s and nothing comes close. Better show than Pink Floyd.

Up In Smoke Tour (1999'ish) Rochester NY
Eminem/Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg/Ice Cube/Warren G/Nate Dogg/WestSide Connection/D12/Xzibit

And I saw BB King a year or two before he passed with my Dad, that was pretty cool...

I saw where Trey was a guest with TTB a few weeks ago. Great to see them return the favor.
Derek is slowly becoming one of the greatest of this generation, without the benefit of any mainstream radio exposure.
One of the really great takeaways of the jam band era in the last 30 years is the culture of collaboration.
A huge anchor IMO has been the great Warren Haynes, who I’ve seen (either in person or on yt) jam with almost everyone. He’s been an incredible ambassador and example of this for a long time now.
What tune(s) did Trucks join on?

Default Best concert experience

Id love to see Jason Isbell rejoin the Drive by Truckers for a mini tour to see them careen their way through Decoration Day and the Dirty South era stuff. I missed it 20 years ago.
So many great concert memories:
Mom taking me along to the Stones in 81 at 8 or 9 years old.
1st dead show in Oakland in 89?
Blues Traveler at the Palace in Hollywood in 93
Sprinting out to a side stage to catch the last few songs of Morphine’s set at Hartford HORDE in 95
Sweating with the kids in down front for the OG 2man attack of Black Keys at the Troubadour in 2006.
Widespread Panic at Toad’s Place in CT in 95.
Govt Mule/ Blues Traveler NYE 95/96 Roseland NYC
Mother Hips at the Hard Rock Cafe in LV around 2010
Warren joining DMB for Cortez the Killer at the Gorge at the onset of my best shroom night ever maybe 2011 or 2012…surrounded by some incredible young women I was traveling with.

My top 5

1. U2 Rose Bowl 360° Tour, October 25, 2009 - About 100,000 people were there. Black Eyed Peas opened, and Slash joined onstage for Sweet Child O' Mine.

2. The Police Reunion/Foo Fighters at Dodger Stadium June 23, 2007.

3. Prince at the Inglewood Forum, April 22, 2011. Over 3 and a half hours of Prince. Played every hit, and throughout the show he was joined onstage by cameo performers like Alicia Keys, Sheila E. and Shelby J.

4. Depeche Mode at the Hollywood Bowl, August 16, 2009. Magical.

5. Simple Minds at the Orpheum, October 15, 2013

Great list!
The Police would have been epic and Prince?? He’s One of two on my bucket list unfulfilled…I hope to see Stevie Wonder before it’s too late.

Never been a huge music/concert person, so haven't been to all too many.

Does Bonnaroo count as one concert? Because if so, that would be it for me when I went back in 2005, was a great time. Tom Petty & Heartbreakers and then Radiohead on back to back nights on the main stage was pretty awesome.

When Trucks joined they started out with a cover of Golden Age by TV on the Radio,, and then played Everything's Right (and boy was it ever) .. followed that with a new song I'm not familiar with and then First Tube... thought he wouldn't be back for the encore but to everyone's delight came back out for a supercharged Possum.

Yeah I agree with all that. I started calling Trucks my favorite living guitarist 4 or 5 years ago. Thought maybe it was because I'm so partial to the Allmans band but seems more people have been catching on to him lately.

Haynes always a great collaborator as well, definitely.

Ed Sheeran about a month ago. Eminem came out and performed Lose Yourself and Stan. That place was so loud it was incredible.

I’ve been to like 5 concerts in my life, but that one will be hard to top. It was awesome.

I am in agreement with this post. My son asked me if I wanted to go to Rammstein with him and I said sure. I have been to my fair share of concerts but I have never seen anything like it. It is an overload of the senses. I loved it. Better than anything I have ever seen, by far!
