I went Thursday night, Friday at opening, and Saturday around noon.

Thursday and Friday were smooth parking-wise but Saturday was a friggin' nightmare. I was shutout of Lot 2 and 4 and it took me more than an hour to figure out the parking situation.

My biggest gripe was that there were too many dealers with no prices on cards. It was appalling to see this level of apathy from these so called "dealers." It wasn't worth my time engaging, only to hear a price 33%-50% higher than recent comps.

Another gripe was high comps, in general, for what I am looking for (non-sport and vintage baseball). I didn't bother engaging those dealers either as I can get both a better price and card either through eBay/PWCC/REA/Goldin/etc. auctions.

Parking issues aside, venue was great with awesome air conditioning.

TCG/Corporate on the 1st floor was very sad. There just wasn't enough foot traffic for them. I told multiple non-sport/TCG dealers on the 2nd floor that they made the smart decision to book the 2nd floor.

Just came back from the show. I was supposed to make it on Saturday but couldn't make it. So I stopped by today. Sunday parking was not too bad. I was able to park right next to the North Hall of the convention.

Lower Level
Lower level was dead around noon time. I dropped off couple cards to PSA and could see vast empty spaces in the lower level. PSA/SGC/Beckett were very quiet and not too many people. TAG/Goldin/COMC area had 5 or less people each including booth workers. Literally good 1/2 of tables were gone already.

Second Level
Most of attendees were up in the 2nd level which was sportscards. A lot of ultra modern NBA/NFL cards which I had no interests in. Was looking for moderately priced vintage baseball and hockey cards. Other than usual suspects, not much to buy on hockey card front. Vintage baseball prices were bit all over the place.

I did look at very limited selection of wax but didn't purchase any since majority of the selections was NBA/NFL. As usual you had some dealers price their cards and while most did not.

Also there must had been about good 20 empty tables around 12:30. Other dealers started to cloae tables while there were decent size of attendees.

Good:
It was great convention center for the show. With ample foyer and aisles, it was not crowded at all. AC definitely was working well.

Security - it was good to see a lot of security.

Bad:
Food. There were limited selection inside convention center for eating. Even food trucks parked outside the North Hall were not that great.

A lot of people had expensive ultra NBA/NFL and some vintage graded baseball cards. Little most did not have hockey cards.

Improvements for next Anaheim show:
One level would be better than two levels. It was bit tiring to walk the entire two floors. It would have been better for all tables to be in same level.

Food was absolutely lacking. There are a lot of good restaurants available. It would have been good if there were able to get few different restaurants to sale their food in the convention center.

It would be good to get one of big 3 wax dealers to show up for the show. That would give more options for wax choices/prices.

Upper Deck is less than an hour south of Anaheim. You need to get some card companies to show up.

More variety would be good. NBA/NFL were way too much. Have more dealers with more reasonable vintage baseball/hockey/non sports cards for sale to do the show.

Overall, It's good card show and great for LA area to finally have one large show like this in many years. Hopefully EJ/Jay/Rob could continue to fine tune the show and make it better every time.

The layout was terrible most of the people that I talked to didn't even know there was a first floor. And the first floor was empty most of the time. Beckett was so board they were playing at the basketball hoop that was there. Saddest part was the promoters had zero clue they just walked around happy about there money grab they created and the local sheep that follow them. It's a normal Socal show just on steroids everyone wanted to be on a camera or buying a ticket just to say they went. Burbank is a decent show but absolutely not an epic destination show as Rob says.

Show was nice. Was there on Saturday from noon to 5...probably needed more time. Took about 20 minutes to park because of the line and another 30 minutes to get in between walking and the line.

Mostly collect basketball and soccer so I can't speak for other sports...I was able to pick up a couple of PC cards (Zion, Mbappe) for a decent price - cheaper than eBay. Also picked up some wax that was cheaper than what I could find online.

I was shocked with the amount of soccer I saw. Way more than I expected.

I went Saturday afternoon and stayed for a few hrs. I actually liked the show, I did alot of walking. I saw alot of nice high-end cards. I like to trade and I don't mind giving more value from my end if I can trade up. Sticker prices were a bit high and trade value was pass my comfort level. Overall I enjoyed the show.

I don't follow...an LCS from Anaheim, HB, South OC would not set up at a large regional event (West Coast National according to some) because another LCS 50 miles away is the sponsor?

It’s not like there’s even competition in the card market in LA.

SF Valley has a million and a half residents and it takes 30 minutes to drive the entire span east to west. They have Burbank and maybe 4-5 small shops in that area.

Where I live in South Bay, there’s Jaspys, The Bullpen, and South Bay. Jaspys and Bullpen overlap but because of the money in that stretch, presumably two shops can survive(it’s one of the wealthiest parts of the country) South Bay deals in mostly vintage and memoribilia.

Then there’s a few scattered small shops throughout the rest of LA, SGV, OC, and the IE. Keep in mind, 10 million people in LA County, 3.3 million in OC, and I’m guessing another 4-6 million between Riverside and SB county.

The Bullpen was at the show. Not sure if anyone else from LA/OC was but lol@ not attending because I’m competition with Burbank.

On Saturday the lady scanning tickets was literally telling everyone to be sure to visit both floors and Burbank Sportscards on the first floor actively had 30 or so customers searching boxes. PSA had a line all three times I visited the first floor, can’t believe anyone grades with Beckett.

It is hard to judge the kind of show that it was from watching recap and vlog videos because it is basically just influencers smooth talking each other and trying to judge each other's penis size in $100 bills. While it is possible that Burbank is the biggest show in the west coast, it is definitely not in the same level as National or even the Dallas show. I have seen the wide variety of those shows

Also not sure what I think about the idea of putting the sports card people on the main floor and putting the non sports on a bottom floor. Although the bottom floor looked good size too from the video, it seems kind of douchey. Like sorry you only sell Pokeman and Marvel cards off to the basement for me. I would think it was a mind bend for people like Curator who really want the best of both worlds.

Did you stop by The Bullpen's booth? How was the selection? Any hockey? Had 2 weddings this weekend so couldn't make it.

Liked the podcast they had going; haven't made it up to their shop. Mitch sounds like he's a big hockey collector.

There's Minera and a new one near Artesia and Inglewood btw. I think they are focused on the Hawthorne/Lawndale/Torrance parts that are not that close to the beach.

Of the people here who went, did anyone actually buy anything or go home with a card?

Of the dozen or so people I know who went, not one of them bought anything, mostly due to the dealers wanting top dollar and not willing to negotiate on cards, making it nearly impossible to work out any sort of deal.

I find that most that went, were disappointed by the lack of deals made. Seems that this show strictly catered to lookie-loo's or people with thousands of dollars in their pockets, (who didn't care if they were getting ripped off or not).

I split a table and sold some stuff. Nothing crazy, cards in the $20-$100 range. Most of my stuff was priced accordingly except for a few cards that couldn't be comped.

Fernando, Scioscia and Outman signed in the 1st floor, Rick Monday was on the 2nd and I got this signed:

TAG had a Dealer/VIP special, so I got 2 cards graded. The slabs look nice, but unless there's a drastic shift, PSA will still be #1 because of resale value. Made 3 straight shots and bricked the 4th, so I couldn't get a prize from their showcase.

My other pickups:

2019-20 NT Terance Mann RPA /99

1997 EX-2000 Terry Glenn Essential Credentials /100, Raul Mondesi Credentials /299
https://www.instagram.com/p/CwqRjMAvBeR/

Dirk Nowitzki signed 12" NBA Finals Trophy (Fanatics COA)
https://www.instagram.com/p/CwtRzRVv3ro/

Overall a good show. Showcases with unpriced cards are annoying so I didn't bother asking. I understand negotiating tactics, but unless you're just peacocking your collection, slap a price tag on it. Stuff I bought were or PC, wasn't looking for anything specific besides 1952 Topps High Numbers, but only a few tables had some. Influencer Bois were out and about, being unnecessarily loud just to get everyone's attention.

A couple I have scanned. Also bought a couple chrome autos of Caminero and Cole Young. Very successful in terms of buying for me.

I bought 5 hockey cards. Most dealers did not have hockey cards for sale. For those who had hockey cards, they were mostly expensive cards of usual suspects. I was surprised they had more soccer cards than hockey cards.
