Has anyone here had Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Batch Proof 124.7?

I've seen a couple of bottles pop up in some stores by me, but haven't wanted to pull the trigger on the price right now (plus my liquor cabinet is too full, lol). But I'm afraid I might be missing out

What’s the price? If it’s not crazy, why not. Yearly release that changes and it’s high proof. A review I read makes it sound delicious. Disappointing they dropped it to a 700ml bottle.

The liquor store had it at 210. The grocery store has it behind a case with no price tag. Just felt like more than I wanted to spend (and a good bit over MSRP) at the moment unless I was REALLY missing out

Looks like the MSRP for it is $129.99

Have an opportunity to get a bottle of WT Masters Keep Voyage but not sure I want to drop $300 on it. Anyone had it?

Most of the Turkeyheads I keep up with say it's polarizing. I might try to find another rum-finished whiskey to make sure you like that finish before you crack it open.

Installed a roof rack on my wife’s friends 4Runner. She gifted me a bottle of woodford. I need a sign that says will work for bourbon in my shop lol.

Had about 12 bottles of the EC923 at the local grocery store. Passed on it and picked up 2 bottles of Heavan Hill BIB instead

Had a couple glasses of rare breed last night, yum. Had a glass of Blantons the previous night and RB hangs right with it for taste. Much higher proof and it definitely shows.

I don’t know how you can compare RB and Blantons 2 totally different profiles and proofs I love RB but no where near the taste of Blantons for me

Probably because I smoke 2-3 cigars a day lol. I enjoy rare breed more, it comes across more complex to me and has a higher burn from the higher proof that I enjoy.

Im not a Blantons guy, I think its wildly overrated and would take a bottle of RB over Blantons every time. I love almost everything else Buffalo Trace puts out but just not a big fan of Blantons.

Thats what Im getting at Rare Breed proof is much higher than Blantons

Tonight is WT 101. Can definitely tell it’s less premium then the last 2 I’ve had but it’s still a solid bourbon.

I think your just in the Blantons Hater club lol I love Blantons- would drink it every day if I could. I like Wild Turkey products also but no way I would ever take a RB over Blantons

He's not wrong though, Blantons is highly overrated. It's a perfectly good bourbon, especially at $60ish, but the secondary market prices over $100 are crazy and there are countless bottles that are better at that price.
Even at MSRP you can find quite a few better bottles that just don't have the cult following.

FWIW, in my collection tasting notes I've been working on, I do have Blanton's rated higher than Rare Breed, but barely. I also have 8 bottles ahead of Blantons, with a few more I need to properly rate that may bump it lower. Almost all of which are cheaper than Blanton's secondary market.
