I voted Fuel but I think you meant Tool. Easy to confuse them tbh.

Our Lady Peace is a good option, wildcard choice includes Collective Soul, inspiration for bands like Kings X

Both Fuel and Collective Soul are appropriate answers.

Matchbox Twenty's first album was one hit after another. Very rarely can you listen to a CD and not skip a song. This was one of those CD's.

Had to go with Toad.

Not sure how Third Eye Blind can be underrated when Semi-Charmed Life was the song for every movie trailer for a 3 year period

I voted other. I think the whole decade of 90’s music lacked promotion as a lot of the bands I see people listing I haven’t even heard of. I met my wife in 1990 so I wasn’t into music as much as I was in the 70’s and 80’s so unless something smacked me upside the head and made me take notice I really don’t know 90’s music.

Breeders
Eels

Special mention:
They Might Be Giants

They started in the 80's, but considering that no less than THREE (Flood, Apollo 18, John Henry) of their 90's albums are each better than most other 90's bands' very best album, and they are still somehow not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, they certainly qualify as underrated. Producing an endless wealth of song stylings coupled with the cleverest lyrics in rock music for nearly 40 years easily puts them in the ranks of the all-time greats.
