Honestly, at this point, I'm not surprised.

Talented basketball player who just can't keep his head on straight. I don't think any amount of guidance is gonna help him at this point.

This arrest is basically why the Rockets made his contract non-guaranteed. Very likely he's released and his career is done.

I think alot of people can look past 1, maybe 2, and maybe even 3 off the court incidents but this is just number X in a long line and definitely the most concerning. I agree his career is likely over

Their acquisition of FVV and the punchable faced twin pretty much spelled the end of his days as a significant player in Houston, anyways. He just did them a solid by accelerating the release process.

Thought the same thing as soon as I saw the news. He took too many shots anyway. They’ll be a better, more cohesive team without KPJ chucking 20 shots a game, and their young guys like Jalen, Jabari, Sengun, and Tari will benefit positively from this.

He's just not that good of a player. Like you said, high volume chucker on mid efficiency and just not a great contributor to team winning basketball. At least FVV is a nice building block towards their step away from that type of play.

I think many got enamored by his flashy, hyper athletic style early.

So Thunder scam city officials into pretty much paying the entire cost on a near $1 billion dollar new arena. Thunder will only pay $50 million on a planned $900 million dollar new arena. Taxpayers will cover the cost of the new arena with a 1 cent increase in the sales tax. At some point need to start telling billionaires if they want a shiny new stadium go pay for it themselves instead of holding cities hostage with the threat pay or we move.

We’re fine with it.

I’ll pay more in sales tax so I can have a bigger local arena that can host the biggest names in music. Get tired of driving to Dallas for every big show.

Laughable that the league’s solution to stars resting is more penalties. Unless my memory is slipping, most of these games lost are due to “injury”, not rest. Is the league also going to do something about teams lying about injuries?

Fining players sure stopped them from flopping so much.

There's no good way to stop players from resting and I do think this will just lead to more "injuries"

The only solution is for the players to care more. Anything else can be manipulated or isn’t feasible. The league dug their own grave on this issue.

People can point to the increasing revenue as evidence that none of this matters. But it’s clear the NBA thinks it’s potential is being hindered by stars sitting.

NBPA would never even think about entertaining this idea. If you want to exclude guys from awards, sure... but to make them sit out the playoffs because they got injured??

Not that anyone cares, but what this guy said is not true.

It's a sales tax for MAPS projects already in place since 1993, residents get to vote to extend it in December. Almost every city / county in America has some kind of special projects tax that you get to vote on. Also, the stadium will be owned by the city not the franchise. I think the Thunder would be the primary tenants, but the arena will also be available for other concerts & events which would help generate revenue for the city.

With Wemby, Micic and Vezenkov entering the league this year, it is possible that soon the top 5 players will all be Europeans 🤣
