man, i hope Acuna doesn't lose another 40/40 possible season because of injuries.

he finished 3 short of 40 SBs a few years ago, and now he's 3 short of 40 HRs right now.

Maybe they should sit him the rest of the regular season to make sure him and his legs are fresh for the playoffs. They are up 4.5 games on the Dodgers for HFA with 13-14 games to play. If the Braves simply go a mediocre 7-6, the Dodgers would need to go 13-1 their last 14 games to take home field away (would need to finish 1 game ahead of the Braves since they lose the h2h tiebreaker).

If he's healthy, he should play. Sitting for 3 weeks and then just expecting to turn it on, in the playoffs...is not the answer. This game is about rhythm. You dont get that by sitting (if healthy).

Plus I'm pretty sure that 40/40 is a big deal for Ronald. Especially after an injury already cost him one season of getting it.

Unfortunately the individual goals are subsidiary to the team goals. Besides, the injury itself isn’t supposed to be major and some extra rest after playing so many games wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

Yeh, I don't think anyone is worried about 40/40. Would he personally like to do, Im sure. But it's about being healthy and in rhythm for the playoffs. That's what matters.

re: MVP. He's sat a couple of days and the team face planted all weekend but Mookie isn't any closer today than he was last week. 2 weeks left.

The point was they aren't going to sit him the rest of the season. If he's healthy, he's going to be on the field. Teams goals are having the team clicking, which means the individual goal chasing is part of the team goal chasing.

Ronald actually moved closer to passing Mookie by not playing. That 1-6 performance cut Mookie's OPS lead in half. bWAR lead is down to .4 and fWAR is down to .7.

Congrats on the plate. I’m surprised how many of those have been available this year. I saw 2 of the 2017 autos on PWCC earlier this year.
