I thought he had a better chance sliding head first instead of feet first like he did. But in that moment, its hard to know.

Agree. The throw took the catcher up and back, head first slide on the inside (or maybe hook slide?) and he beats it. He slid in the perfect spot to get tagged.

Reading a little bit on Walters, it looks like he was blacklisted more for his manipulation of lines, purposedly making bets one way to push a line and then betting a much larger amount on the new favorable line. That was also back in the 1980's. His Wikipedia seems to suggest he's still making sports bets in the last decade or so.

I consider that sharps behavior. If you're smart and rich enough to move lines and win, seems sharp.
He makes his bets through other people. People have been banned by casinos if the casinos think they're working for Walters.

It's not normal sharp behavior, though. Yeah, you get caught manipulating the lines like that, you're going to get blacklisted. Same with any betting game, Phil Ivey ran into issues playing baccarat.

Plenty of sharps know how to bet well within the realm of what the casinos deemed acceptable. There's still going to be outliers.
