IMO this off season or going into ST 2024 is the time to sell with the exception of the rarest of the rare stuff.

WS Champ- Check
MVP- Soon to check
Perennial All-Star - check
Hits alot of HR's year to year - check
Steals Bases like he just robbed a bank - check

Batting Title probably isn't happening maybe he sniffs the SB Record if he plays another 25 years. lol
If he performs in the post season like he has all year and the Braves have a long run, there will be a spike in pricing. The playoffs and World Series get much more attention than the regular season.

The Mook supporters still want him to get 40 so they can sell their cards. They still think Dookie Betts is better because he can play a mediocre 2nd base once a month.

I put a bet on Acuna to hit #40 last night. He disappointed me.
He did steal a base that made up for his lack of HR though on another bet.

This is Acuna's projected stats adding in final few games.

Even cut SBs in half, this is a season like we have never seen. Only 2 players have more than 70SBs in a season over the past 25+ years!

Around 80Ks for a 40+ HR hitter is amazing

This many runs in a season has happened maybe 2 or 3 times in the last 25 years!

He could potentially break the MLB record for RBIs by a leadoff hitter (old record is 103) *Acuna has 100 right now, Betts at 103*

There is no discussion, Acuna is the MVP.
There is absolutely a discussion. Their stat lines are almost identical other than SB. Betts plays a much more intricate role in their defense and because of that has a higher WAR 7.9 to 7.8, and they play for the best 2 teams in the NL. It isn't like one is on Colorado or the Pirates. I would vote for Acuna, but to say there isn't a discussion is foolish.

And a difference of .1, by their own admission, doesn't not mean one is better than the other. At this point, WAR is a non-factor.

umm
avg/hits/runs nowhere close to "almost identical" either
so basically they are close on hrs and rbi

If WARs are equal, then you have to find another point for your guy. I can think of a dozen stats and narratives for Acuna at this moment. Not sure Mook has nearly as many.

Im hoping he hits it tonight. Ill get an ulcer if this goes much longer.

He doesn’t have a Homerun in his career against Corbin so hopefully he is due for his first !

The stat lines are "almost identical" except for that one thing that's only been done by 2 people in the last 25 years.

Corey seagers batting stats are almost the same as Ohtanis too.

Please don't pollute this thread with the MVP "discussions". Take your bantering to the other thread.

I was mostly talking about last year with a conveniently timed hamstring injury the last few games of the season with no playoffs in the picture.

I watch every Braves game, and every night there is some new thing only RAJ and one or two other people have done ever.
Usually, actually always, the other guys are All-Timers

Plus few that only he has done. Wasn't 30/60 a first?

Carroll has an outside chance of getting there this year. Probably not, but in future years he’ll be a perennial 30/60 threat. And maybe even higher on SB, if he can get his OBP up to Acuna levels.

I love Mookie Betts! He’s having a phenomenal year. The MVP is Ronald Acuna Jr.

I don't follow the Nats pitchers. Is Corbin a high velocity pitcher? Ronnie seems to hit better against off speed/mid velocity pitchers.
