My disgruntlement with the hobby is nearing an all time high. Such a fun enjoyable place to spend time and it's turned into a complete #@#@#@#@ show from grading/wax prices/new hobby participants/crime. Just

Someone needs to enter the vintage side of the hobby. Just stay away from the 9/10's for vintage and sealed vintage wax. Heck, I have been collecting HOF golfers autos and vintage. Just staying away from what everyone else is pushing. If people start pumping that stuff, I will move in buying vintage cards of scientists.

I moved toward hockey, more from a prospecting perspective, but have a very enjoyable PC. There will soon be a significantly greater number of people in that market because of another Connor. The market dynamics have shifted and grading has played a key role in that.

Might be a dumb question but can't get an answer from PSA...Did a reholder, got grades on 9-13-23. On my account it says shipped back to me, no tracking # provided though and haven't received. Anyone else have the shipped back to me but no tracking and haven't arrived after week plus?

Order Type: 10 day regular ($75 per)
# of cards: 4
Order received per USPS: 9/11/23
Order received per PSA: 9/12/23
Order popped: 9/21/23
Order shipped: 9/22/23 (just got the email)

I pulled all of these myself so they were handled with great care from pack to PSA. Grades came back pretty much as expected. I was hoping for the Robert to sneak through as a ten but it had one small surface issue. The Trout, well I don't recall the back corners being that white when I sent it out but it also has a tiny indent on the back (like a nail impression but very short in length). I was hoping for a 9 but 8 is probably the right number based on the scans.

Here's some post-grading pics:

I've got two more orders boxed and ready for a value bulk submission, but I'm a little nervous about sending because of the length of time those are taking. I guess my baseball would probably get back just in time but basketball should have been sent back in the spring or early summer. All I know is that it would be epic if we could all send our stuff knowing it's no more than a 30-45 day exercise from door-to-door at a much lower / fair price.

Good luck in your subs ladies and gents!

Is regular really stated to be 10 days?
I have a 1 card order delivered exact same day as you, marked as received 9/12, R&ID 9/13, and still sitting there, waiting for image upload.

Had a value bulk order 49 items in the same package that has been in grading for a couple days now.

Yes, it's 10 days but stated as "estimated" of course: https://www.psacard.com/pricing

As others have mentioned, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the way some orders are handled. Your 1 card order should be on it's way back by now or very close. Since you sent two orders together, I wonder if they are trying to hustle through your big order so they can consolidate before shipping?

I doubt they would combine orders for shipping, but who knows, no rhyme or reason to the order things are processed out there

The worse part is they get their money long before they finish grading, as they should, but why not come clean and admit a backlog?

Submitted some autos to get authenitcated to PSADNA. They arrived yesterday. Does anyone know if the wait times are similar? Also, I have read that they will charge your debit card $1 when they accept the items and then again right before mailing off. Is the process still the same? Heard different things around here.

I have an order that was sent to PSA back in July. It as been sitting in Assembly for a couple of weeks, and after refreshing the web site earlier today, I see that it now indicates that it is a "Problem Order", specifically:

"Order is currently on hold. A PSA representative will be in contact with you."

Did they damage something, or what else could this be for?

Edit: Right after I posted this, I received an email from them. I'm getting upcharged for something.

This always confuses me with PSA. Email comes in at 12:24am CST that one of my orders is now in R&ID. I find it very hard to believe that graders/researchers are working at 10pm in California or 1am on the east coast, wherever they they are actually doing the work.

With all of the frustration, if you guys were not part of the registry or the ROI was stronger than the other big 3, would you use PSA?

Personally, I only used PSA for the order currently in limbo (vintage baseball discs) because SGC and Beckett both said they don't grade or slab them. If I had known they'd be so far off on their 10-day estimate, I wouldn't have submitted them. It's simply not worth $75 per item to receive lower priority than value submissions.

I had an autograph authentication order come back last week. Took about a month.

Thanks. It seems like PSA/DNA moves alot quicker than PSA for some reason. Oh well better than waiting 3+ months.

If the resale were the same on all of the big four, I would probably use CGC and PSA interchangeably.

Still waiting on mine from late July. I've never had them charge like you said, it's usually full amount up front.

If the resale was the same, CGC would get my cards at the level PSA gets them now. SGC is the fastest, but outside of vintage, their slabs need a huge refresh. Their plastic is the worse.

SGC slabs are trash. They look cheap, feel cheap, are too big, and are the worst of the four when it comes to protecting the card. It amazes me to see how people fall for that "tux" marketing nonsense.
