I can see a few of those previously mentioned like Askarov and Greig being in Extended. Who else are they going to put in there?

Those two are on the sell sheet for 23-24 Series 1, so they will not be in extended.

I believe Logan Cooley is returning to Minnesota for another season, so he will not be in Series 2. Adam Fantilli will likely be in Series 2.

Sure sounds like he's heading back to school. Maybe if Arizona wins the lottery (puke) and gets Bedard, Cooley will sign so they can play their ELC together.

Interesting pre-order up on 401 Games for my fellow Canadians. Series 1 and 2 Hobby box bundle for $300.

With Series 1 getting closer I thought I would make a theoretical checklist of the Young Guns based on what we know. By my count there are about 70 players eligible but only 49 spots (plus a checklist) available.

What would you think if the checklist ended up being this?:

Luke Hughes - NJD
Matthew Coronato - CGY
Sean Farrell - MTL
Egor Afanasyev - NSH
Danil Gushchin - SJS
Samuel Knazko - CBJ
Vincent Iorio - WSH
Marco Kasper - DET
Simon Edvinsson - DET
Hugh McGing - STL
William Dufour - NYI
Devon Levi - BUF
Olle Eriksson Ek - ANA
Tyson Foerster - PHI
Jake Livingstone - NSH
David Gust - CHI
Adam Ginning - PHI
Wyatt Kaiser - CHI
Luke Evangelista - NSH
Tyler Kleven - OTT
Michael Kesselring - ARI
Jiri Patera - VGK
Jet Greaves - CBJ
Jonathan Gruden - PIT
Jakob Pelletier - CGY
Lukas Rousek - BUF
Matthew Knies - TOR
Yaroslav Askarov - NSH
Matthew Kessel - STL
Matt Murray - DAL
Stanislav Svozil - CBJ
Arturs Silovs - VAN
Tristen Robins - SJS
Jackson LaCombe - ANA
Dustin Wolf - CGY
Akito Hirose - VAN
Nick Swaney - MIN
Ridly Greig - OTT
Leevi Meriläinen - OTT
Bobby McMann - TOR
Brock Faber - MIN
Owen Beck - MTL
Milos Kelemen - ARI
Drew Helleson - ANA
Vincent Desharnais - EDM

Foerster and Evangelista are pretty good sleeper guys that could rise as well.

Adding to the other post saying Evangelista and Forester, I would put Svozil, Faber, Pelletier and Silovs as just below top tier and above the rest of the list.

I also don’t think Marco Kasper will be in S1, he wasn’t in MVP which is a good indicator of who will be the holdovers in S1. I can see Kasper being added to S2 to add another top forward into that already stacked checklist.

Based on how they've handled 2021-22 Series 1 and 2022-23 Series 1, any player that debuted before the end of the regular season should be eligible for Series 1.

If that's Canadian $ that's a good deal. S2 presell in US for one of the big 3 is US$200 alone. S1 is $127

I think the better play here is to wait and see how Bedard does in the NHL before pre-ordering anything. Not to mention the absence of the official checklist playing into S2.

With the new pack format, I am personally going to sit and watch to see how all the different formats (hobby & retail) look before locking up any $$ to S1 or S2.

You guys in the USA are getting hosed on those pre-sell prices. There really is no rush, there will be lots of product to go around for awhile.

I think there's a debate to be had on S2 hobby at $200. I'm perfectly fine locking in my S2 tin cases at a little below MSRP. Don't really see a ton of downside risk on any S2 retail at MSRP to hold sealed for the long-term unless Bedard winds up a bust. I'm not touching any S1.

I'd say it's more them hedging their allocation then giving out a good deal, realistically no one these days is looking out for the customer lol LCS are ordering as much S2 as they are allowed, and likely getting stuck with a lot of S1 as well since they aren't gonna give you 10 cases of S2 and two of S1. Instead of having to massively discount it as happens to Extended most years they are just bundling it with the popular product under the guise of a "deal", so they get it out the door. All this S1/S2 talk people forget there will be products with Bedard redemptions (Artifacts) people will be chasing before S2, so unless someone breaks through S1 is pretty much dead, especially when they will likely still be dropping 21 and 22 products which still have hot players like Caufield and Beniers

Release dates I've seen are 11/1 for S1 and 2/28 for S2.

I may be stupid, but I just pre-order a case of series 2. I may have pulled the trigger to fast, but I just had to do it.

I'll be using MVP buyback cards from 2023 Topps Chrome to get some Series 2 for my sealed collection.

Where are you seeing a 10/18 release? BO, DA, SSC and Cardboard Connection all still show 11/1

my coworkers husband owns a card shop in Ottawa and they posted it on their FB today. I've never seen them get a date wrong. They never post dates until they're sure so I'm taking it at face value at this point.

Yes, we're aiming for an October 18th release for 23-24 Series 1

PJ - No complaints to that, but considering that's two weeks ahead of the scheduled release, and two weeks from tomorrow.....when does something like that get finalized and confirmed to the public?
