I wouldn't be surprised if they are still holding back something to announce when they have their next delay message go out, but they should definitely do something like the above and confirm what is going out as I have certainly lost track of all the promises of bonus free stuff and what I can expect to get when it finally does ship.

So I dont get the whole '3 people' thing from the comments on the update. 3 people cancelled their pledges, is that what happened?

I dont agree with the derision in response to that. It's almost a year out now. I am not a fan of how much of this is being handled, including the language in some of these updates to only just be pushed back. Although Im not cancelling personally, it's hard to blame someone else for doing it.

Agree with BobCollects, this is the last project of FPG's I plan on backing. Just a bummer the project has been like this, despite the awesomeness of the content itself: an interesting book about Masterpieces with extras that I was so much looking forward to from the start. But the experience is becoming somewhat tarnished for me.

Update says the final ship date will be December. Lets see if that pans out (not gonna hold my breath and fully expect it not to). That's their words though.

I'm pretty done with Kickstarter in general I think. What projects have actually been funded have all been way over estimate. There's the sketch/comic set that took almost 2 years for example.

Oh and this just added.

Oh and don't forget there are 45 solid silver cards too. Nothing to sneeze at! #1/15 of Spider-Man, HULK and Psylocke.

So 45 5 ounce cards in total looks like. And he's hinting pretty heavily at Wolverine cards fwiw.

Default 1992 MARVEL MASTERPIECES 30th Anniversary Book

So silvers now a 1:36 shot and overall odds to get any of the lotto rewards is bumped down to 1:3.22.

I do think Wolverine would look cool getting the metal/silver treatment, as it’s my favorite card in the base set. Not “December update: WOLVERINE SILVER!!! and btw we aren’t shipping this month” kind of cool. But still cool. I mean sheesh they may as well just make the whole base set in metal at this point.

If they really wanted to do something awesome: make the 5 card spectra etch set in metal. Maybe bronze or silver.

My question on Kickstarter got answered. There should be a clarification update soon with a full listing of everything going on in terms of items, giveaways etc.

I think FPG means they will specify all what’s included in the next update, which will probably be the November update. They seem to be rolling out these updates on a monthly basis.

What I really hope not to see….is along with the list of extras in the next update, for them to sneak in ‘Welp, book is actually shipping into January…..you know, covid supply chain issues and all’. It is getting so old at this point.

Yeah but I would think at this point they would be more responsive to customer requests especially for things that are easy for them to do like answering and clearing up what people will be getting whenever they ship.

Be careful not to complain though. You may be labeled and become "one of the four."

Could be worse. I was involved with a Toploader Binder Kickstarter and it was a nightmare.

Took almost 2 years. Got my binders but shipping was a gong show. I need to use a PO Box and they were told to use Canada Post only.

To save money they used Amazon Fulfillment. Awful. The drivers didn't understand what a PO Box even WAS and were screaming at the PO clerk because they weren't me. Nearest pickup was an hour from me.

Worst thing was I got a friend to meet the drivers the next day and they gave her the parcels even without ID etc.

It's so bad that binders started shipping in April and I guess 15-20% of people don't have binders yet. Or got wrong colors etc. They have a Facebook group and now any delivery questions just get deleted during the mod process. Tons of complaints on the KS page though.

But plenty of stock on Gamestop shelves now lol.

I know I will get the book from FPG. Just wish they would stop the excuses and say EXACTLY WHAT the delay is.

Can't be Customs as the books are supposed to be all US based.

Yep, I dunno exactly what all that was about, but from the responses they put on that update about 'the 3', I didnt like it. The whole 'they dont get it'....

I have a lot tied up in this project, and although Im not removing my pledge or requesting a refund, I guess I just dont get it either, and dont blame others for not getting it. The delay is starting to be too long, but the thing I really dont get is the way the project has been handled throughout, with the constant shipping dates given which never pan out (when was 'we have all the supplies in, should ship out next month or so' given...back around June?), among some other things mentioned above. The whole way this thing is being run is subpar imo, and not surprised at all they didnt just provide a list then and there, which might be expected with good customer service and communication.

I only got the base pledge so I am not worried much about it other than I hope I used my home address and not my old address.

I think the whole communication thing is horrible for them. They need to just offer refunds to those who want it and let them walk away without blame. Then they can flip some of those pledges to others and I would think they would move especially when it gets closer to the date...whenever.

The 3 he keeps talking about are indeed the three people who demanded and got refunds. 2 of them were signed slipcover tier. That's why if you go to the rewards page it says there are 2 available. Wonder if it would be worth sending him a DM and seeing if they are available.

And for the communication I think he is like 5FINITY and overwhelmed. Needs to find a marketing/communication student to take over for cheap and handle inquries I think.

I completely missed this project when it was announced, would love it if it's possible to get in now, even with the delays

Right from the main kickstarter page I was able to click "Pre-Order" for a copy of the book. No other kickstarter perks. I don't think it's possible to get those any longer, but the book should be doable.

This is true, anyone can at this point preorder the book, it should be the basic Hulk cover version. Doesn’t come with the digest book or other extras. Now whether FPG will enable people to get in on the couple spots created when the few backers removed their pledge….extras and all…that I have no idea.

One thing is pretty certain, once this thing finally ships, you will surely find many of these extras listed on eBay. We’ll probably see various bronze cards, paintings, different versions of the books- all on eBay.

I believe they did say all the remaining inventory of the Signed/Number edition (2nd tier book with Spider-Man cover in the ad) were sold off to a dealer, and there was a lot left over since only like ~400 of the 1992 pledged for that version. Meaning that a dealer could have the remaining 1500 copies, and surely that means they will be offered for sale somewhere.

To get the version of the book that comes with the top tier original art (Wolverine cover in the ad), there aren’t a lot, only 104 for the round 1, and I think people will try to keep it with the painting as a package deal, so might have to spend a lot for that one….it’s possible that some people might separate it, but most probably won’t.

Reading about these delays feels like deja vu all over. I've been burned before on Kickstarter so I was a little wary about this project. I do think these will come out eventually, I just hope backers get their books before they start showing up on Amazon and Ebay.

Well, I reached out to FPG and, as expected, they can't take on new people. Can pre-order the book but none of the kickstarter perks.

If anyone here backed it and wants out, feel free to PM me and maybe we can work something out.

Been over a month since last update, and they seem to have stopped bothering to even respond to backers questions on the comment page (at least some people are starting to get vocal about it). $500k project and comments just sitting there for 30 days unanswered.

My gut says they wont be meeting the December deadline they put out there. This is the first kickstarter Ive done and it'll likely be my last. Definitely the last by FPG. They keep using the card that they've been in the publishing business for 30+ years, so there should be no concerns with anything. I like the phrase 'you're as good as your last transaction' better. Im starting to question the project at this point.

I've done almost 50 Kickstarters and this is the first time I have seen it handled in such a poor manner. Even the one-person self-published projects go smoother than this one.

I have seen 2 worse I was a part but one was from a literal scam artist and the other one was a 2 man sketch company that bit off more than they could chew.

Anyone feel like joining me in bypassing Kickstarter and just sending emails directly to FPG asking for updates? I have already hit the Request Update button on the KS page.

I also hit that button for request anonymous update like a week ago, and nothing. I did have to send emails direct to their customer service during the whole framing fiasco with the original art. They did respond back then at least.

I think what's the most ridiculous about all of this is it says on the actual campaign under risks that there will be no covid-related shipping delays. And that's all we've heard about the whole year basically (which also doesnt even make much sense this far out).

This was my first time supporting a Kickstarter and it will probably be my last. I had no idea there's nothing stopping a campaign from using the money they raised to NOT finish the project.

Imagine if FPG used the $12,000 they spent making the solid gold Spider-Man card on actually finishing the project and shipping the books...

What a coincidence -- I was just reading your guys' comments when I got an email from FPG saying they have received shipping dates from their printers for mid-late December.

I'm excited -- can't wait. I'm definitely going to be posting my experience of opening this release.
