I agree with the last several posts.
They start with a high price point and do not let them linger on the site very long. This creates an initial appearance of demand for the product. If it sits on the website too long then it appears to be worthless or overproduced. After it is pulled from the site, a strong secondary market is quickly created since it appears to be a quick sellout with high demand. Human nature makes people desire this product even more since they assume everyone else wants this product and they must have it at any cost in most cases. They turn to the secondary market to purchase since it is now a hot product. This may or not be true and the secondary market could dwindle, but at this point all product is mostly sold and the end consumer is left holding all inventory. They are in the business of quick sale and turnaround. High demand and a strong secondary market makes this happen. They start the fire and add fuel to keep the market going until it is time to build the next fire . . . Last edited by clsports; 10-29-2021 at 09:09 AM. |

![]() Sure you do. Every day it sits unsold online confidence wanes and so does fomo. Perceived demand and scarcity are extremely important optics on a product clearly lacking in content for the price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not cutting and running at all, it's making the best cash decision for them in their high-churn business. Selling at a discounted per box price in bulk gets them probably 20% less revenue, but that's strategically offset by the single lump payment and the significantly reduced logistics in fulfillment, which we all know is a huge struggle for them. And don't forget that they are still making huge profits at $200 a box. So Topps make still large margins. major retailers make large margins selling at $325-$350 a box over the long haul, and everyone is happy.

Sapphire is a complete garbage release this year. Topps knows it. And some of us know it. It's those that dont and that will allow FOMO to set in, that are the targets. |

Making a lot of assumptions. As are others.
There is also the possibility that they really did sell out and it just took that amount of time. Quote:

![]() Sure. When most premium offerings sell out in minutes any product still being available later in the day clearly shows less demand at the price point.

Has anybody seen any redemptions besides Adell and Kelenic?

Is anyone opening this stuff? The guy I’m looking for has had a whopping three parallels and fewer than 10 base listed.

Of course not. These need about 30-40% trim on box pricing before even the most foolish will start ripping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Every two months or so I open up something from my sealed product collection.
Today I decided to open my "2021 Topps Chrome Update Sapphire" box. Pulled a redemption card for a Jo Adell "Autographed Green Sapphire Parallel" card. I have no idea what the value of it is, but I opened it just in time as the expiration date is 11/30/2023. |
