If he'd have played the whole season he'd likely have numbers so eye-popping, that he'd have been a serious threat to Ohtani for AL MVP, especially once Shohei stopped pitching and then also shut down his hitting early.
Even so, winning two World Series MVP trophies, which Corey is well on the way to doing, is, in my book, better than 10 regular season MVP Awards if the player who won that many is sitting at home watching the playoffs every year.

Heaney 5 IP 80 pitches
You're telling me the Diamondbacks didn't have a single pitcher on their team that could give you this??

Gallen has barely given them that with a 5.27 ERA in the postseason on normal rest. So, no the D- backs don't have anyone who can give them that for game 4.

So I checked.... Yep... on the WS roster... a fresh arm... hasn't pitched since the 17th. I'd say he should have started. He's gone 3 innings of pretty solid baseball tonight. DBacks threw away the WS tonight.

Ryne Nelson 5 IP 1 ER 5 Ks 63 pitches
That wasn't available 3 innings earlier? Was he stuck in traffic? Having a bowel movement? Studying for a final exam? I'm so confused. |

So the bullpen game was a bad idea. But I'm more shocked that Christian Walker (2022 Gold Glove winner!) committed such a costly error. Missed the stop sign last night too. One player who's been solid all season.

It's not often you can allow 7 runs in a World Series game and all 7 runs were meaningless. They made no impact on the game.
Crazy. |

Can someone tell David Ortiz to stop picking the Diamondbacks to win?

Texas has three match points. Let's see if they can erase the memory of the one-strike-away from glory near-miss heartbreak of 2011.
