Gallen has barely given them that with a 5.27 ERA in the postseason on normal rest. So, no the D- backs don't have anyone who can give them that for game 4.

That's exactly what I was looking up. Who was the #4 starter during the season. It was Ryne Nelson.

So I checked....

Yep... on the WS roster... a fresh arm... hasn't pitched since the 17th. I'd say he should have started. He's gone 3 innings of pretty solid baseball tonight.

DBacks threw away the WS tonight.

So the bullpen game was a bad idea. But I'm more shocked that Christian Walker (2022 Gold Glove winner!) committed such a costly error. Missed the stop sign last night too. One player who's been solid all season.

It's not often you can allow 7 runs in a World Series game and all 7 runs were meaningless. They made no impact on the game.

True, but if Walker could've got a run-scoring double or the like at the end there, things might've got a little interesting, especially with Seager out of the game.

There are no moral victories in baseball, but getting Leclerc out on the mound in the 9th was a positive.

There's been a lot of if's and maybe's with Walker this series. His bat has started to come around, but I hope he gets out of his funk in a big way tomorrow.
