While not a Hall of Famer, Jose Reyes was a legit star when he played, especially for the Mets. I’m very happy to see these “high Tier 2” players making the set.

I was hoping to see Steele featured this year. I'm surprised he still qualifies for the rookie shield, but I'm not completely sure how that's determined.

The pubes glued to Steele's face are pretty gross.

Haha!
It didn't look good when he was growing out his "beard" during the season, but I think it's even more exaggerated when the artist has to draw on every individual hair.

Not thrilled with the new Topps website. They buried the TLS link.

My artist-signed print runs have been updated. Congrats to the collectors who won the last two Gold Signature prints!

Nice to see low print runs but they aren't translating into the cards being more valuable. I'm still current on the whole set but I am really considering being done after card 700. Right now this set isn't worth anywhere close to what I've paid and probably never will be. I like the art but it might be time to move on.

Love seeing Steve Garvey in the set. Former MVP. We need this set to go on forever. This might be the best year yet for retired players.
Interestingly I have been watching what Topps is doing with it's T206 releases and seeing what players they release and don't release as part of that set. Oddly enough Steve Garvey never had a Topps T206 card so I naturally thought there would be no chance at seeing him here anytime soon. Great selection. |

For example...I'm a Giants fan....how is it that popular retired players like Willie McCovey or Tim Lincecum (just to name a few) don't have cards, but guys like Carlos Rodon or Heliot Ramos do? I could name another 5-10 retired Giants players who would sell better than guys like Rodon or Ramos. I lot of it is simply lousy player selection..... |

I really hate to be THAT guy, but when did you make this list?
Just off the top of my head I can see Fred McGriff, Roger Clemens, Cecil Fielder, Nolan Ryan, Rod Carew, Rollie Fingers, Jack Morris, and Gary Carter, who all have cards. Sadly, but the rules of the game state that each player will only receive one card. I hate seeing Clemens as a Yankee as much as the next guy, but that is the rule. |

![]() And quite a few active players have multiple cards with multiple teams....so it's possible that Topps might change the rule to accommodate retired players who played for multiple teams as well. |

Now whether or not longo can get in the set as Tampa Bay Ray (pending another 1 game start with the Rays) I think that's okay, right? If he retires this year they can put him in the correct uni at some point I hope. |

I guess we can chalk this up to Topps not really thinking this through properly and missing a great opportunity...granted, so many players to add, repeated retired players should have been done with plenty of time between cards...maybe never done by the same artist...that, in and of itself, would put some time between cards. Wouldn't the people who bought Babe Ruth be happy to know there will never be another Babe Ruth in a Yankee uniform again?
