There was a joke basketball pump thread years ago about a pistons rookie and his cards went nuts.

You can believe what you want. The power of blowout is real. Imabluestreak isn't kidding. The Patty thread shows this.

Yep. I started the Patty thread so I used to get messaged ALL the time (pandemic era) on ebay with questions about cards. About 90% of the people said they read Blowout all the time but didn't have an account.

This, plus 1) Lack of NFL licensed autos and 2) Popular sets haven't even been released yet.

Because of the lack of Panini autos of Stroud(and Levis/Young) in his pro uniform, I am thinking his college autos are going to be a great long term hold. They are going to be his true 1st autos as opposed to later Topps/Fanatics autos. Anyone agree with this?

My regret was spending equal $ on Stroud and Levis stuff, I wish I had spent 2-1 on Stroud stuff

It's possible but I really doubt it.
Football isn't like baseball where people really want the first auto. Most people want an auto in an NFL uniform. Personally, although I do want to pick up some of his autos, I'm waiting for NFL uniforms. His autos will retain more value than a lot of college autos though because of the large OSU collector base. Just my opinion.

I snagged two of them, his first Topps Now and the Select X-Factor or whatever.

Feel like until the autos come out, there's a good window of buying for the autos for a year or so as people will want an auto now, and then of course later.

It is absolutely not real

You can't possibly be serious with this

You can't possibly be serious thinking that one of the largest forums for card collecting has no impact on cards.

We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear.

exactly.

Blowout has way more sway than people give it credit for.

I'm not saying blowout is the "all mighty" but it has influence.

I had the chance to get a raw college auto versus a graded ssp case hit last Saturday at a card show and I went with the graded ssp case hit, but in retrospect, I wish I had gone with both, as the college auto was numbered to #49.

Poopini really is doing a great job with the case hits in their lame duck year

I'm happy with it. The card really pops in person. Has a die-cut like surface.

I said this several pages ago, but I think the opposite. The 'case hits/SSP' should hold more value due to lack of licensed NFL sigs. It also seems that Panini overloaded these 'case hits' likely to compensate for lack of autos.

College uni autos don't really do it for me, but I'm not a big college fan in general. They tend to drop in value as.more releases come out.

There are a few case hits that I love the look of and would normally pick up. However, it feels like they've become incredibly watered down. Barely any football products have been released and these are some of the "case hits" already:

Big Bang
Portraits
The Mighty
Razzle Dazzle
Throwing Stars
Stained Glass
On Campus
Downtown
Drip
Kaleidoscopic
Pedigree
Primordial
Gridiron Marvels
Destiny
Origin Story
Genesis
Next Up
Graffiti
City Limits
Forcefield
Prolific
Human Highlight
Night Moves
Extraterrestrial
Nuclear

College football cards are becoming more sought after and produced to meet that demand. Due to that, I think the days of their values dropping significantly may be over. Let's re-visit this in a couple years and see. I agree, NFL uniform always going to be the better one, but I am not sleeping on the college stuff

Ah that's a bummer

PR on base is 13854 and there's a total of 470 serial numbered cards, that's about 29.5 base cards for every serial numbered card (13854 / 470 = 29.477)

So on average if a person ordered 30 base cards they'd be likely to get 1 serial numbered card. Ordering 10 you had about a 33% chance of getting a numbered parallel.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking I'd get one, but was hoping

Yeah you could see a few years ago around the time I was getting into galactics cause they looked cool that hype cycle exploded and was fed by the blowout thread a lot. I know that pretty much taught me to keep my lips sealed generally about anything I really liked.
