I don't think a description of what Montgomery actually did ever made it into the press. I even remember listening to Friedman's podcast back in 2019/20 and he definitely knew what happened but wasn't going to be the one to bring it to the public for whatever reason.
Who pissed in your Cheerios, today?

I've never said I need an official description of what Perry did -- if you review the comments I've made, I expressed surprise nothing had leaked. Only thing I've seen is something related to alcohol happened at a team event with sponsors and employees.

Both Dallas and Chicago made clear they cannot comment on the specifics of the incident that led to the termination (in both cases). The difference being that despite your comment:

Could that have happened with Perry? Sure, but like I said, it's odd nothing similar leaked about Perry's incident (or pattern of incidents) given he's more high-profile than Jim Montgomery and this took place in an Original 6 hockey market. You'll notice the Bruins didn't terminate Lucic, and his alcohol related incident rose to the level of police intervention. Blackhawks confirmed it was a workplace matter with no criminal behavior. The player assistance program exists, and unless Perry refused to go through with it, moving for immediate termination of a $4,000,000 contract is out of the ordinary for NHL teams.

As I mentioned, and mbrahv1984 took exception to, is that only Chicago would terminate someone after an isolated incident given their track record of being a scumbag organization.

Nice comeback win for the Kings, tie an NHL record for 10 road wins in a row to start a season.

Speaking of the Kings, my vilardi and kupari predictions of them having breakout seasons really aged like fine fish in the sun.

The Kings are looking real solid.
Wouldn't it be perfect if the Oil go on an absolute tear and sneak into the playoffs only to have LA dust them in round one?

Kings do look very good. Very well coached. Their centre depth will be a major factor come playoff time. They're built for it. Still not sold on goaltending but early returns have been good.

I guess no one just watches the Sharks, cause I think they had the best comeback last night. Kings were heavy favs even if they almost blew it, Sharks were heavy underdogs, facing a better team and better goalie. Eklund's goal with seconds left in OT prob saved the game as I would of picked Islanders in Shootout

Eklund was one of my sleepers when stashing 21-22 YG’s. Nice to see him producing.

Byfield is going to be a special special player in a few more years.

Carolina fascinates me -- supposed "cup favorite" entering the season. When they bleed goals, they really bleed goals.

Very nice goal today, it usually takes a couple years for the big guys to figure out the league, he figuring it out.

Sharks dont come to play until they lose the first 10 games or give up the first 4 goals

It's the same every year. THey lack true star power and I just cant see them winning without it.

Roope Hintz is one of the more impressive players I've seen in person (Ducks-Stars Oct 19). Was expecting to be blown away by Robertson, but Hintz stole the show. He's what makes that team tick.

I'm fascinated at what an awful job the Blue Jackets coaching staff manages to do on a nightly basis.

Scary moment for Larkin in Wings-Sens game. Glad to see he got up but was completely out of it.

Have a big issue with Perron's actions; fully deserved to get the boot, a fine, and hopefully a suspension. Completely ridiculous actions with his teammate lying motionless on the ice. Zub had nothing to do with the original play and could have injured him just like Larkin.

Just going to post the same thing.

Perron? What an idiot. Zub was actually yelling at the ref to get help when Perron attacked him.

Larkin getting knocked out was kind of flukey. Sure Joseph hit him from behind in a basic cross check type push that happens 50x in a game. But it was the accidental hit to his chin as he fell into Kelly that popped his button and knocked him out. The double minor roughing penalties were a joke because if Larkin doesn't get knocked out there is absolutely no penalty at all there. Just like there wasn't any in real time until the refs has a chance to talk and basically tell each other "we have to do something because he got injured and this is the No Hit League nowadays"

Zub and Larkin also have history so without seeing what happened, I understand why Perron did what he did. He'll get a few games for sure.

Sens fan here. The Wings fans have lost their minds. The discourse over what happened and calling it a premediated attack by Joseph are hilarious. Calling it a crosscheck to the neck (despite pushing him with one hand lol) and thinking he should get a bigger suspension than Perron. Braindead idiots

I think we'll be hard pressed to see a dirtier play in the NHL all year than what Perron did. He should get 10+ for that tbh. Vicious dirty play.

No, I assume you're referring to the Joseph/Larkin history. Zub was a completely random factor in this

In the old days Joseph would have paid a price that evening for his actions.

Now we wait for Zoom meetings for suspensions and fines.

Yes what Perron did was dumb and he should face consequences. Overreaction.

Glad Larkin's scans came back negative.
