I would put Zion in the Shawn Kemp bracket. Which is fine. Kemp was a stud for 7 years and full of highlights and also won enough.

He needs to partner up with a legit Point Guard.

He clearly is not in his best shape and working his way back still.

You can tell He can't go at 100% tilt because he's carrying too much weight.

It's also clear he's unstoppable near the basket

Day 1's just ecstatic he's on the active roster in December and not on a gurney. Mashallah.

22/6/5 Ferris Bueller'ing his way through the season and still better than 85% of starting PF's.

Just imagine once he finally ditches his Goldbelly platinum sub.

Just imagine.

Yeah we've seen better players start the season out of shape plenty of times. So the fact he's out there playing is a plus.

Jokic, Luka, Harden etc

I'll save my judgement for the Playoffs where he should be in better condition and unstoppable.

Let's see if there is anything to him currently.

Let's see if he can make it through a season uninjured.

Then let's see if he gets his team into the playoffs and how well he does when he is there.

Other then that like another poster said, " he is just another dude".

And who cares if he is just another dude?

The ones that are bitter on here are the ones that got burned investing in his kards. They never liked his game anyway.

Yet they still hang around because their feelings got hurt.

Some players play the game to win and to establish a legacy; others, to make money in order to enjoy a certain lavish lifestyle. I think it's safe to say that he belongs to the latter group of players.

I wouldn't call him that - he's still about the #10 PF in the league, around Siakem. However, he can't be trusted to stay healthy so he's overpaid for what he produces.

If I were a Pelicans or Zion fan, I would certainly care if he was just another dude. Him being just another dude would be multiple standard deviations below his expectations entering the league.

I will trade up on any Nesmith I have duplicate of, as a limited time offer (for example a Prizm purple ice for a Prizm orange), as a way of extending the potential of future gains-on-investment to Zion holders.

> just another dude
> literally a viral NBA convo piece whether balling out, having a ridiculous BMI, digging out a Brazzers starlet, or half-assing for 60 mins.

Pick 1.

Just another guy would be a dude like Tyrese, whom went virtually untalked about in a similar caliber drubbing to the Fakers.

I'll say it again. 22/6/5 on 57% while maintaining a John Goodman level of indifference to carb counting.

Send this man to the Gulag for 3 months and he's Pear Jordan. Hell...he's already got the period correct 'Unc' hoop ring.

I don't know ninja. I've been through it all, the injuries and the diets didn't deter me. I always thought he'll turn around.

The passiveness? That's another story. I don't remember he not trying, or at least to this extent. Specially considering he's no longer on his rookie contract.

I think we can all agree he's nowhere near realizing his full potential due to his work ethic/discipline/want. That's always the most frustrating thing to me.

But people are making it seem like he's some fringe talent or just 'some dude.' Nah, never that. In all actuality, he's still in the upper tier of PF's in the west. Which is scary, because he's so throttled by his own desire. And still one of the most polarizing chubs since Ruben Studdard.

Will he ever change his personal tune? Who knows. But I'm in there like swimwear for the long haul. Good, bad, indifferent. Bring it all.

BBW chaser 4 lyfe.

It's his fifth season in the league (fourth playing) and you'd think this is about the time he'd make a leap in play. Instead we are once again talking about his weight and it sucks because he has all the talent in the league to be a perianal MVP candidate. He got his max deal and the team has done a good job in building a contender around him so what's his excuse?

Are we saying this based on his previous 2 seasons or this one?

If you stripped his name away and just looked at the stats for this season, they don't paint a picture of an elite player. He's 67th in EPM, 76th in DPM, he's become a negative defender, a below average rebounder, etc...

At some point I hope he has a wakeup call and realizes his potential

29, 5 and 5?

Average D?

He's always been below average. If he even becomes average on defense that would be an amazing feat by itself.

A few highlight blocks and steals made people think he was some good defender but that's never been the case.

He's never "cared" defensively and now it seems that he doesn't really care offensively either.

No doubt if he decides he wants to care again he can put up 29/5/5 (as long as you assume health). I just don't know if you can make any positive assumptions about him at this point. It's been 5 years of the same stuff over and over for him
