This is also just another bad take in a sea of bad takes.

Draymond is going to be a media star. He's going to be a host on some show, doing all kinds of podcasts... Nobody is gonna remember this in the long run.

People can say whatever they want about him on the court, but he has a good media personality. His playing career is going to be remembered by the Warriors dynasty

jcard already nailed it. This take is as bad as the KD takes.

No, he is always going to be remembered as the guy who cost a 73 win Warriors team a championship.

I think we agree more than you think here. I said he would be a media darling post playing career and that he could have been remembered as a "key" cog in the Warriors dynasty. He will certainly be remembered for his role w/ the warriors, but not as much as Steph, Klay, KD, and even Iggy, etc. But if someone asks in 15 years what Draymond was like as a player, people will certainly recall that he played dirty. It would be disingenuous to think otherwise.

How do people remember Bird and MJ as players? just curious... not trying to rush to Draymond's defense or even play devil's advocate here, but the fake outrage is pretty BO

And for the record I think he'll get 10-15 games and some 'mandatory counseling'

I totally disagree here, KD wasn't a key piece of the dynasty, he hopped on the train. Iggy was a fine player but nobody is gonna tell you he was more important or people will remember him more.

Klay was great but Draymond was the 2nd best player on that dynasty (I'm not counting KD).

I think the further removed people who really watched the games will point to Klay and Draymond both being HOF players, but that Draymond was more important and a better overall player.

Blowout is definitely not the place of people watching the games. They see the videos on twitter or whatever or highlights and formulate their thoughts from a 5 second video.

I think I said a few years ago I thought Draymond would go down as a top 15 player with some BS rationale as to why. I own that L.

I also said I thought he would be in prison if not in the NBA. Strawman, but probably a W.

I'm tempted to create the poll over on RGM but people in general are too reactionary. I definitely agree as time goes on and this isn't fresh in peoples minds and you look at draymond the player, it's going to be clear.

I mean I don't really care one way or another about his "extra" stuff but as a player it's absolutely clear to me he's the 2nd best/most important player on the Warriors dynasty

I think this just adds to Steph's greatness/legacy.... When we look back at the Warriors dynasty and see that a guy like Draymond was the #2, it makes Steph look that much greater.

Best player on the team, 2 fmvp, and the warriors wouldn’t have won in 17 and 18 if not for kd. He’s definitely a key piece.

I’m not saying he wasn’t a key piece (bad wording) just not part of the core.

That's exactly what Green thinks he is: the legend that gave Steph, Klay and Durant their titles.......

Draymond is a Hall-of-Famer. We've seen all of this before with Rodman. Eventually the juice isn't worth the squeeze, and Golden State is about there, but Green's legacy is secure. He has four rings and is one of the best defensive players of all time. His personality will guarantee him a healthy career after.

With that said, it's a bit disappointing to see him flame out like this.

Draymond could have been remembered as a Rodman, but will end up being a Bill Laimbeer.

Correct. Rodman was a HOF player on other teams - he wasn't just tagging along with Jordan his entire career. While they have similar behavioral concerns, Draymond is no where close to Rodman, IMO.

Can't wait to see the first time he tries to punch Shaq in the face on air.

Except Laimbeer was just one of many players who were allowed to play that way due to the rules (or lack of) in place.

Green has been the absolute only one kicking, punching, choking players in the past 10+ seasons.

Came for sportzluvr's thinly veiled David Duke social commentary.

Left disappointed.

Actually, I've heard multiple NBA commentators say it might have been one game if not for Draymond's history. So just looking at it in isolation doesn't warrant a long suspension.

It seems rather logical to look into previous offences, especially when this occurs on a regular basis, from a player who openly says he doesn't regret it one bit.

This is the exact type of reactionary response I'm talking about.

Why say something so obviously false?

Typical Blowout.
