Can I get some thoughts on this card. I know it is an on card auto from 2018 Topps Chrome that was a buyback and put into packs at the Japanese version of the Transcendent VIP party. This was pullled from the Silver packs given at the party. I pulled it myself. I didn't go to the party, but bought the packs off ebay back in 2019.

The coolest part for me is the Shield that has "Ohtani" written rather than "transcendent" like the other VIP cards from the US party. It also is a 4/4. I think these factors make it much more valuable, but I have had some say it's value is more like the Topps Chrome Base Auto or less because it was a buyback. The same thing that I like about it is a detractor for others.

Can't speak for the autos, but the non-auto versions versus the original really depend on the rarity of the card to begin with. The stamped #150 version of a base card /17 can be worth 4-5x the original counterpart. If it's the sapphire #700, it sells for about the same as the non-stamped original. I would say that yours is probably closer to the latter, but with a mild-moderate premium over the original. The main detractor is that it's not a real rookie-auto (2019), and the positive is that it's scarce (albeit through stamp).

The above is my experience. That said, it only takes two wackos to bid it up, so it really comes down to supply and demand.

I say slightly less than a normal base TC auto, +/- 10%. The Sapphire Transcendent /17 goes for slightly less than normal Sapphire. When people get super rare variations of cards that no one really cares about(like this, or an error etc), they tend to ascribe a higher value to it because they own it. That's all that's at play here. If you like it so much, that's all that matters, but don't expect your personal value to match the market's

Lovely cards. That said, pure idiocy by Beckett that they dock you for the heat stamp when that is how they're all marked. I have one like that and it drives me nuts. Great trio!
