Default Post Your January Pick-Ups

Super early, but I’m completely soured by the whole Kickstarter Jusko book thing, figured I get this thread kicked off for some distraction. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s pickups through the month. These came in today to start it off.

2016MM legacy sketch by Mitch Ballard

This one is kinda interesting in that the legacy sketches are all after Jusko….but not Jusko’s art in the 2016 set itself, unless they are aftermarket. After all, the sketch artist shouldn’t have access to Jusko’s MM16 art since they were creating the sketches before the set came out (correct me if I’m wrong). This one is of the MM16 Lady Sif card, yet is not an aftermarket, what gives? The answer is interestingly that this art was out there before the set, way back in 2014, as a large SDCC promo (the other was Deadpool).

2022MM Venom AP by Patricio carrasco- this artist is based out of Chile and really puts out some outstanding stuff, this is my second piece of his now. The other is a Black Cat.

2022MM Wolverine vs Sabretooth AP by Kursat Cetiner (after Jusko’s MM16 battle spectra)

Very true to Jusko’s card. I have a question for artists on the board (lord knows I’m not one)- where do replicas of existing art like this, or say sketches of movie-stills, fall on the difficulty spectrum? Is it pretty easy for artists to do, or still involve hard work? Great job by the artist, and he does credit “after Jusko” on front, which is appropriate.

2022MM Black Panther by Ethen Beavers…bit of a comicy/Nightmare before Christmas vibe

That's sweet looking in the all-gold. For someone who doesnt know Zenka, what exactly is this golden ticket (parallel or insert? odds of them?)

Honestly I have no idea. The Zenka set was released in China and there was only rumors of golden tickets. I never saw one until I landed this one. I can't find another one anywhere else. No idea on odds - just know they are very tough pulls.

I checked ebay and couldnt find anything either. Heck if it's a golden ticket by definition it's gotta be super rare Very interesting piece.

Nothing huge but picked this up for a great deal.

Bob Gunton is probably best known for his role as the Warden in one of my favorite films, The Shawshank Redemption.

I hope one day to have a custom card made with his, Morgan Freeman, and Tim Robbins autos.

Donald Duck is a tough hit in the Mickey Mouse comic cut set, so I was happy to pick up this one this morning…

Yeah. I have been looking everywhere and can't find another one. Pretty unique card. It's made of metal - pretty heavy.

Weird dimensions tho… right? At some point it becomes debatable what qualifies as a trading card. Still looks cool.

It's 4x2 inches. Slightly too tall for a regular top load. The photo above makes it look much larger.

Just got this 8x10 back from Streamily. Melissa was fantastic during her stream, would recommend people give it a shot! Kinda wish we had sprung for the Dan Jeannotte too.

https://imgur.com/upload

after it's done use the share links and copy/paste the bbcode URL

if you want a "thumbnail" version, add a lowercase letter "L" to the end of the filename

Another way is to post on Blowout from the Tapatalk app on the phone. Uploading pics to the forum is easy and direct that way.
