Perfect timing! Since I left the hobby just before your specialty and came back just a few months ago, I'm really looking forward to checking this out.

I am overwhelmed with the amount of sets that came out during this time and one of my goals for this year was to learn more before buying everything which was beginning to happen.

If you are just diving into 90s cards, be sure to check out Joey Peapod's youtube channel. He and fellow 90s guru Rodney Vallejo did a great series of videos ranking 90s inserts by tiers. Several hours of good content from two very knowledgeable guys to get you started in making sense of the craziness of the 90s.

Once you've watched that, The Essential Credentials Podcast, as mentioned, is a fantastic way to stay immersed in 90s cards. I highly recommend them both. Both youtube channels have members here on Blowout. They are really good guys with tons of knowledge and are willing to help you out.

Card Talk is done. They were the first sports card podcast I ever listened to, so I was bummed when I heard they were wrapping things up.

I personally love Sports Cards Nonsense and find the hosts to be extremely entertaining. I don't listen to them seeking out any sort of advice, though.

I went to the Essential Credentials channel first, watched the Bonds collector open a bunch of packages and was amazed on some of the cards I'd never seen and found myself searching on ebay immediately for certain players in the same set annnnd ....... again, need to remind myself after such a long layoff to take a breath.

Will watch the tiers/ranking primer you suggested first. Appreciate it.

I just got around to watching the latest episode of That Seventies Card Show where John Keating interviewed Jerry Reuss. If you haven't watched it, go do it. Fantastic interview. I could listen to Jerry Reuss all day.

I watched some of the Sports Card Radio live stream from yesterday while walking my dog. Apparently CC2 sent two lawyers after them over an article published on their website. I haven't read the article but it apparently relates to CC2 allegedly getting loaded boxes -- big surprise -- not really. I just assume every prominent influencer in the hobby is getting loaded boxes to help promote new products.

The Big Picture. I'm surprised any of them know SCN exists but the mention of the name made them all start laughing. But Sean Fennessey and Chris Ryan are higher ups at the company so they are probably part of the decision making for all shows.

Nah, just two months for now. The Ringer is currently in the midst of restructuring a bunch of their podcasts' contracts, so the thought is that this short extension is to keep SCN and a few others locked down for the interim period.

I am not sure why Card Talk finished. I would think Cardcollector2's rising popularity probably has something to do with it, though.

when does the two months end? They have been saying on the show they are up in February. I'm curious what kind of money guys at that level are getting from doing the podcast. They were saying they did $18k in on night on Fanatics Live and seems like they are focusing more on breaking now and pod is just to drive people to their breaking channel more then anything.

Ok, they haven't been talking contract on the pod. But yesterday Jesse teased Chris Ryan as a guest on the pod in the next couple of weeks. Chris is definitely a sports fan but I've never heard him mention cards before so I figure his appearance will be more about the future of the show. And I'd think they are getting extended longer because it would be weird to have Chris, who is like #3 in charge of Ringer on if they are just ending the show

I know he’s a controversial subject but he’s big enough now he’s having a trade day, at the Schott, for 2 hours before the Ohio State vs Purdue game (kind of a big game) in February

He did. It was called Card Talk, but it just came to an end. Ryan has always been very kind to me and has never not seemed genuine. The controversy around him is completely unwarranted, IMO. People like to hate for no good reason.
