Sure, if you’re being intentionally obtuse, this is an alternative. It could have been worn by a batboy during a game ��. To anyone making a reasonable effort to understand what Topps is saying, the nameplates/patches are from the players jersey used in a game. They are just not guaranteeing which game it was used in.

Honestly..most people are gonna take the Game Used at face value so the sticker thing. The Game Used thing is an issue with virtually every Topps product (and even Panini) out there. You either believe what they're intending or don't.

Topps could have provided on-card autos and MLB-authenticated relics for probably $500-1000 per box. I am thankful they went this direction and provided a really nice product for the price. Just checking some Dynasty cards and many do not have the authentication and that is an $800 product. And the same language about the relics is presented on the front and the back of the card.

Are the cards even technically licensed by the MLB? I don't see MLB logos on any of the cards. Is WBC owned by MLB? I honestly don't know the correlation.

Some of the Topps Now WBC cards have MLB authentication stickers so maybe the point is moot.

The bottom line is..the wording on these isnt different then what Topps on most of their relic cards. If you never had a problem with relic cards from Tribute, Dynasty, Definitive etc. (Exceptions being the sets they do put MLB authentication stickers on) then it's not a big deal here. I believe most won't care and just make the assumption they are gsme used like they do with pretty much everything out there

Opened first batch of 4. Put me in category of brutal. Best card was Lars auto /99. No ohtani, Soto, Acuna, trout, Roki. Did hit black /10 of…Robbie Glendingdong

Well after initially scoffing at the price I caved and got 4 from Topps before they sold out. Just ripped today, not a grand slam by any means but I don't think I struck out either. Got a base Roki that looks gradeable and a couple other little things too.

Brutal? One of your cards pays for an entire box. That's not exactly brutal. Just shows how much value are in these. The "brutal" breaks are much more tolerable than an actual brutal break.

Seriously - I think all the Panini nothing patches have gotten into people's heads, and now they assume nothing from any product is game used. Guess what? Topps ain't Panini thank you very much.

Its an 10 card box (usually). In order to hit more players you have to open more. To not hit your player is one thing. But to say its brutal (when it isn't) is just not so. My first 4 boxes were much worse. I believe my best hit in my first 4 was $40. That was technically brutal, but it was still fun for such a cheap box. When this is compared to almost anything else available right now it wins hands down. The EV is incredible.

Lars Auto. If its the jersey auto to 99 it will pay for more than a single box. I will also add, when members post vague results like that, there are often more actual hits. Just not the one they wanted.

The base cards will not come easy. In 35 boxes only 1 Ohtani base. So keep that in mind.

Its a new listing. Someone will grab it, Nootbar has a strangely strong market.

Regardless, is the point you trying to make is that he only gets 90% value back from a single card? Not sure what the argument is you are trying to make.

I've started scooping up the base cards of a specific player on eBay for cheap (~$5 a pop). If the base are as tough a pull as people think, there is opportunity there when this player gets posted.
