Default PSA with Altered Card

Hi...I am looking to send a card from the early 1900's in to PSA. I already know it is altered, but want to have it slabbed. When on the Submission section of PSA is there a way to let them know I already know it has been altered but just want it slabbed? Do I just put it in the comments section? Thanks for your help!

let them do their due diligence and inspect it. most of the time they ignore any annotations or other comments. if its that obvious to you, it should be to them and they will grade it as such.

Yeah, put in the comments something like "Please encapsulate even if card does not receive a numeric grade." Like you are suspecting, you may get it back as "Altered, do not holder" if you don't.

ive had better luck with adding either a sticky note or label maker notes stuck to the card saver for things like this (and which way to slab mirror image cards properly, etc). adding comments in the sub form previously have almost always been ignored which is why I said to not do it.

they should slab it Authentic or Authentic Altered. getting cards returned ungraded when it could've been slabbed as such is a kick in the nuts.

I've put stickers on the card holder with a note like "PLEASE SLAB AUTHENTIC OR AUTHENTIC ALTERED IF A NUMBER GRADE CANNOT BE ASSIGNED"

I've gotten back a few known-trimmed cards slabbed AA.

If you don't write it on there, you may get it back 'EVID TRIM' and still in a card saver.

I put a note on all the vintage cards in an order and the unaltered received number grades as expected, but just in case...even a screw-down-pressed card could look un-altered and get an N5 altered stock do not holder and be returned in a card saver, so I just put the note on all of them

When PSA was imaging raw cards still in the card saver...

Thank you very much for the info! Will definitely do this.
