There are multiple reports of this - not fake news.

It's just a troll with 2 total posts - maybe a UD employee perhaps?

Does UD guarantee a numbered hit in a box like this? Like is there verbiage on the box that says so?

I saw a box last Thursday with NO HITS in it.

My last box had a nice Orange Wolverine in it.

That is definitely heavily inspired by early-90s Sam Keith's Wolverine artwork.

I was thinking the same thing, a mix of Keith and Simon Bisley (Lobo). I can just picture that Wolvie chomping on a cigar.

Good call -- I totally forgot about Bisley's Lobo work.

Nice! That brings back memories of the Jonathan Wayshack sketch card collector back in the day. That guy had a great collection.

Ended up buying 8 boxes off of eBay. I like the set but some of these boxes are VERY boring breaks

Love most of the art, some I don't love

Hit an Inferno Printing Plate in the very last pack of the break which was cool

A couple highlights off the top of my head were a nice Wolverine Platinum Medallion and a Daredevil Jambalaya - Pulled 4 Artist AU

The weird: ONLY 1 Red Base #'d /100 with nothing numbered lower (except Plate of course), lots of Blues #'d /180

Snagged a Black Panther Amethyst Medallion /35 off eBay for what seems like a real steal, appears to be a great time to buy some lower #'d popular characters

Prices tend to go down, not up, after the epack release. A card numbered to 35 will eventually have 4 or 5 listed on COMC with the sellers competing for the lowest price.

Absolutely, but i doubt i'll see another Black Panther Medallion /35 for $38 or less, lmk if you see one

Also if this is priced similar to hobby msrp do you really think much of this will get busted, box prices have been tanking since release and there is literally no chatter about the product

I believe he said they already dropped the preorder box price $3 and essentially the preorder trajectory is determined by preorders. Basically it works 3 ways

1) preorder sells fast, prices rise over time
2) preorder sells fast, prices lower over time
3) preorder sells slow, prices lower over time

With the 3rd category, he basically said that unlike the 2nd, they usually drop precipitously and from what I understand the preorder per box price for distributors was sub $100 for this set.

My guess: Within 3 months of physical release, physical prices drop to $150. Epack is listed at $150 per box. Physical prices from big retailers drop to $110 per box for this set. This thing sits on epack forever (since it’ll be competing with FUA, MM, premier, etc). Good luck upperdeck, your market saturation is catching up.
lol, physical dropped from $200 to $150 per box already on DA. My contact over at DA says they have no desire to keep ordering this product at these margins, as they did for FUA.

Good luck upper deck, this is your first fleer ultra marvel set that’s going to really get screwed over by your product saturation. Might as well call this wandavision. Honestly, while I still think $110/box is eventually what this may be, it could possibly be lower than $100 by summer. There were some really good characters on the medallions but too many garbage characters in this set.

Seems like UD added some random characters in this set to fill it up.

I assume this is marvels way of acknowledging even a niche set like this will never truly be niche because they need to pander to the general public . I agree captain America seems very odd, but there’s been a lot of weird character choices in recent marvel sets. Someone on the financials side must be in the room making the decision on character inclusion because while it’s weird to me as a fan, it’s necessary to help sell a set.

After posting that, I realized they could actually throw a Captain America in here. This was a missed opportunity for Cap-Wolf!

Per Google.., Looks like Cap is a member of the Midnight Suns team (with a “U” in suns).

https://marvels-midnight-suns.fandom...aptain_America

And likely many of the characters that seem out of place have popped up in books Ghost Rider has starred in so I guess the whole Marvel universe is fair game.

$140 per box at Dave and Adam’s already. Let’s go epack at $150/box. Still wouldn’t buy it…

And for folks who opened these what were you thoughts at the price point? Found an opportunity to pick up a box at $125. I've got the jonesin' and I was curious about this set back at release. Thanks in advance for anyone's time.

It's definitely dropped in price. It's a relatively niche area of the Marvel universe, which probably hurt it somewhat.

These sound awesome!

Collect and combine 10 copies of any individual Fleer Ultra Midnight Sons Medallions card on Upper Deck e-Pack® to receive an e-Pack exclusive Acetate Medallions parallel of that card with the ability to have the physical card mailed to you.

I'm a sucker for acetate cards. That's way better than a simple foil color change for combined cards.
