PA is still at $7.25 and the McDonalds here is overpriced. Also, McDonald is a multi billion dollar company that can afford to pay their employees more without pushing the cost onto the consumer. It's stake holders wouldn't be able to afford their private jets though. That would be tragic.

There is zero chance any business owner is going to cut profit to pay more. They will make that money up by any means

Yeah, profit over people has been a long standing problem in the US.

THERE IS A RABBIT IN OUR FRONT YARD!

Dogs were barking and I saw it under the squirrel feeder.

McDonald's actually makes most of it's money off real estate for it's franchises, not the selling of it's food.

Quote:
As mentioned, McDonald's has earned over $7.3 billion in rental income so far in 2023. This represents 63.5% of the revenue it has generated from its franchisees this year. And it represents 38% of the company's overall revenue, making real estate the biggest moneymaker.

My current company doesn't even offer a 401k. I think a lot of companies are really taking thr easy way out. Pensions are a thing of the last fir 95% of the workforce.

The dogs next door must see that same rabbit, they are currently barking away.

This time it wasn’t the usual dogs in the back, it was my idiot neighbor to the west.

My old place got rid of the pension. My new place doesn’t have one (not a surprise). The old place rolled the yearly profit sharing into a bigger raise. That way they can eventually phase that out, I believe.

The trades are the way to go if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. Pensions and an annuity or 401K plan.

That is far worse than any picture BNut has ever taken. Can someone draw a rabbit on the picture?

Are you sure that is not a picture of a sasquatch? The Loch Ness Monster?
