new Leaf Pop Century product - weekly Metal Continuum packs

I got an e-mail from Leaf today, about their new product, 2024 Leaf Metal Continuum Pop Century. Each week, Leaf will release 5 different autographs. $99.99/pack, and each pack has 1 autograph card.

The e-mail indicates that there are equal numbers of autographs for all signers, so that is good. If it's like Leaf's other Continuum sets, if you collect one of every autograph, you can probably redeem for a cool bonus card at the end of the year. However, with 5 autos a week, that's a lot of cards to buy.

I'll try to update this post with the new cards each week for those interested.

These are on the leaf website. They are $99 pack (1 card) and include the 5 listed signers in various parallels #d from 1 (superfractor) to 45 each week. They claim eastwood will be in one of the weeks as well. I think they are all sticker autos and some signers have added other verbiage on the stickers. Some did all and some did a few. I hope this helps.

It's the one I haven't heard of that's the problem. Not gonna pay $100 just to get that one.

I think all 5 autos will be less than $100 on Ebay after release. Seems better to just wait and buy the ones you want off secondary market, same with all Leaf products.

I think three per week might work better -- big-medium-small. Or perhaps groupings that have related ties where all options feel comfortable or at least relatable.

I was skeptical when they announced the new format for selling these. First two weekly offerings have been very underwhelming. I can’t see these selling well or generating much excitement. I agree with others that the packs should be $50 and not $100. Or just tweak so you can just buy the ones you actually want.

What's confusing to me is, what's the appeal of the way they are selling it? Anytime you get a blind pack of something there should be something to chase, some big hit but in the last set only one of the cards individually even sell for $100. A /5 Leaf Kit Harrington auto is on eBay for $100 BIN, a 1/1 Paul Bettany sold for $86. The only one that sells for over $100 is Peter Billingsley, but not by much unless its less than /10. I just don't see the appeal, if the only thing you are chasing is small chance at an inscription of your favorite actor it seems pretty low odds of being happy.

So I'm in agreement that $50 to $60 would seem to be a better sweet spot if they had to sell them this way, but how this is better than selling them individually I'm not sure.

Whats silly about all this is we had regular pop century, then decadence, then whatnot edition, now this. All of these stickers autos have been seen 4+ times now within a year. Everyone who wanted these autos already has them. They really needed new signers for this.

Updated with this week's names, and at first it looked decent to me, with 3 good names and 2 ok ones. But then I looked up what Leaf Travolta and Atwell autos are selling for, and was shocked how low it was. As noted above, these need to be priced at half the price.

Also, there is a note this week that if you buy 5 packs, you will get 1 of each of the 5 signers. Guess I assumed that would be the case, but maybe it wasn't the first two weeks.

Maybe I misinterpreted the new message but I read it as they are adding one random autograph to every 5-pack order.

I fault the market more than Leaf on Travolta and Atwell autographs being so low. It's a good lineup this week in my opinion.

I just picked up a Travolta auto for like $30.

I bought week one thinking it would sell out before reading the whole e-mail. I realized I was getting one auto and was annoyed at myself. The price is absurd for what you get and I actually got very lucky. I pulled a Biehn inscribed Terminator auto.

Anyway, I'll be passing and none of the three weeks has sold over 50% of their run. They will be cutting the prices, but as y'all said - I'm out unless it's $50.
