It is the promoter's first show there, so no telling how it will be. It is supposed to be 250 vendors with a wide selection of material.
I am setting up there along with a couple friends. We will have a good selection of Sports (vintage and modern) and Pokemon. Hoping for a good attendance. |

I have the same question, coming from DC. Bills itself as a 250 table show, compared to 450 tables for the Chantilly and Philly shows. I am curious where this show leans in terms of modern vs. vintage, sports vs. non sports, cards vs. memorabilia etc |

I’d just wait for the real Philly show in a few weeks

These shows have been in a ton of different locations but are always pretty solid. Mainly modern with a little pokemon and a very tiny amount of vintage. Historically the venues have been too small and the room is packed, but in South Jersey/Philly, there has been a least one show a weekend for the last 6 weeks so no idea if people are showed out or not. If you don't have any other plans, I would say it is worth the drive. Just know there will be a lot of overpriced Philly cards there, usually very heavy in Maxey, Hurts and the lower tier Phillies players

Really tough parking in that area. My prediction is that it's mobbed, overpriced, and fun

Can anyone tell me if Kensington is as bad as the documentaries/yt vids make it look?

Impressive these guys were able to book the Convention Center. Couldn't have been cheap to do that. I don't have any real interest in going to this, though. Free parking will be extremely tough to find.
As someone else already mentioned, the Philly Show is the best card show I've been to in the area by a pretty wide margin. I'll stick to that and the Fishtown one. |

Not only will parking be tough but it will be expensive. Once inside though, you should
have lots of fun!

I have a somewhat recently discovered long lost 2nd cousin with MS who lives near the area.
She is unable to walk, essentially bedridden and completely confined to her apartment. Just curious to hear how it really is from a local or if it was mostly hyperbole |

Parking will be anywhere from $12-30 and not easily accessible. Passing on this one. Esp with the big Philly show in a couple of weeks

The other shows have been good, but the past dealers lean heavily on modern. As others have said, new location in Center City Philly so it will be interesting. I will be taking the train as I do not want to deal with parking in that area and am only over the bridge in southern New Jersey.

Parking won't be that bad....I usually go to the Christmas Bizarre thing they have a block away every year and there is easily more people at that then would ever be at this card show. There is plenty of parking lots and garages in the area....but yes you will spend $15 to $30.

A little something for everyone, pretty heavy on football though. Definitely leaned ultra modern and I didn't see many tables with the early 00s kind of stuff I look for. There was still a few people with some nice vintage, if that's your jam. My one nitpick is they could have spread the tables slightly more to make the aisles a bit more maneuverable IMO.

I thought it was pretty good for their first show there and for it being so close to the bigger Philly Show coming up. Not sure of the attendance numbers - but it was pretty busy all day - although not overly crowded.
I was setup selling sports (mainly 1990s and earlier stuff, no ultra-modern) and had okay sales for a 1-day show. I did not have a chance to walk the room, but heard that the majority of the dealers had ultra-modern or Pokemon. Very little 1990s and older stuff in the room. Many of the attendees seemed to be just "lookers" though. My buddies were setup with Pokemon and they were swamped all day. Lot of kids and adults buying and selling Pokemon to them. The Pokemon market is crazy. And seemed to be a good amount of people coming in with stuff to sell to dealers - but majority wanted multiple times than what their stuff was actually worth. Had multiple guys come up with maybe $50 to $100 worth of cards and ask for $400 or $500 for them. And a few typical aggressive guys who get mad when you politely say that you're not interested in their cards. Overall a good show for what it was... |
