That refers to using you own PTO to cover the difference. So call out PMFLA full day. State covers say 70%, employee uses 2 Hrs Vac to cover the difference. They cannot go over their avg weekly 40 hr pay. Now your 1 day of Vacation time can help cover 4 days off, most of which is covered by the State.

That was my understanding as well. The max number doesn't cover me (even at 60-65% of salary), so I need to figure out X number of hours to top me off.

It is actually a great benefit for those that really need it but Dr's are easy to manipulate and many take advantage of this to find a "serious" medical condition.

5 minutes left at work and I finally caught up enough to stop now. Two people on my team called off sick. The same habitual person who always calls in did it again of course. Ive basically been glued to my screen all day picking up the work she was supposed to do. Hope she gets enough rest from all her rest.
