Good morning, everyone. My nanny sent over a bunch of pennies and I have sorted out some I think are of any value. I am not sure though. Is there a safe and accurate way to determine these things? Thank you!

I'm going to assume they are all Lincoln cents. Condition is everything with most coins, but there are a few dates that are considered rare and valuable even in fair or poor condition:
1909-S VDB.....this is the big one! 1914-D 1931-S Beyond that, there are other "better" dates from the first few years, teens and twenties. Also, there are several varieties/errors that are sought after, the most popular being the 1955 Double Die. You will immediately know it if you have one: ![]() Good luck with your searching!

Be on the Lookout for 1922 No D's as well. Those are error coins that command a nice premium. There was a fire at the Philadelphia mint and no pennies were struck there in 1922.
1909-S pennies also have a decent premium given their low mintage and first year of issue status. 1911-S pennies were also low production coins and well struck examples tend to be hard to find. There are other die varieties and error coins that can bring a premium.
