He doesn't take any cheap swings. I'm excited to watch him and the rest of the young guys. I'm expecting big things from Casas. I'd like to see Rafaela just get the CF job out of spring training and let him play all year even if he slumps like they did with Casas last year. Excited to see what Anthony, Mayer and Teel do in the minors and see if any of them can make it to Boston this year. Like Rafaela I think they could make Teel the starting catcher already based on his defense. He'll definitely start in the minors but he's 22 already and has high level college ball under his belt and he looked great hitting in A+ and AA last year. At least we have some young players to look forward to but they probably have to trade one or two to get some pitching

Pitching overall is looking better then I expected. Crawford and Houck have been great. Whitlock looks great except for one bad game. Maybe the rotation won't be a disaster

Had no idea Schilling has a collection of Nazi memorabilia. Dude is literally the lowest of the low.

I'm not sure how old you are, but a ton of US military serving in World War II brought home Nazi memorabilia from the war. I have a Nazi flag and a piece of glass from Herman Goering's huge window that my Grandfather brought home. I also have a photo of him standing in that window. He used to tell me stories how the servicemen would send everything not nailed down back to the states. One guy, who was the quartermaster for their unit, actually sent home almost an entire German tank piece by piece.

Not just WWII. I have a family member who's platoon took Saddam's palace in Baghdad and those guys all took whatever they could. People implying that because you collect something makes you a Nazi is ridiculous.

What a weird attempted media assassination. No one likes Curt Schilling already, why waste the effort? Also, why would you #@#@#@#@ up the Red Sox thread with this garbage?

Yes. We get it, a lot of people hate Curt Schilling. In 2024 Red Sox news, Casas hit another HR today. Slow start to the spring but seems to be heating up just in time for the season.

That’s exactly what I’m saying!

I think the Yankees and Red Sox will be competing for 3rd place in the AL East this year.

I'm not particularly high on the Sox chances this year but right now I think the AL East is pretty wide open. With Cole out I don't think any team has a great rotation. The O's have a great line up of inexperienced young hitters but the rotation beyond Burnes doesn't scare me. TB's rotation doesn't scare me either and I'd say them and Jays have the weakest line ups in the division (but every team has decent hitters). The Jays probably have the best pitching right now. The Sox rotation is looking better then I expected and they should be able to score runs with anyone so maybe they'll be in it until the trade deadline again and we have 2/3 of a fun season before it falls apart

1B CJ Cron and LHP Joely Rodriguez have both triggered their opt-outs as XXB free agents from minor league deals with the Red Sox.
