Decent auto list including Beckenbauer, Matthaus (some on card), Sammer, Keegan, Klose, Kahn, Neuer, Kane and Musiala. First autos (I think) for Uli Hoeness and Felix Magath as well. Not everyone's cup of tea but might be of interest to some.

the box art is great, but the cards look(ed) cheap and terrible.

why do Topps keep doing this?

My issue is that Topps keeps released all these curated sets when they can't even get their mainstream sets released on time.

Tomorrow is February 1st, and the only 23-24 Topps product that has been released this season is Deco.

The moment I saw the rookie checklist of the box I skipped it. Sepp Maier - Oliver Kahn dual auto would be my only chase so I prefer to get it as a single and if I like it of course.

Well i received my two boxes today. Even though i was kinda confused on the two parallels i got from the first box:



Auto was a lowly Maximilian Beier to 49. Straight to the trash imo. But the 2nd box was nice enough auto-wise:

Yup exactly. That is so beyond odd and of course it doesn't rule out that this might have happened in other boxes aswell. I e-mailed Topps on how to proceed, bc i was essentially cheated out of one numbered card from that box. I could sell it, but that would be straight up fraud. Waiting on their response

Haha, yeah that's what i thought too. Oh well gonna wait and see what Topps say. This is the second error box i got lately. The other was an FC Bayern Forever box, where instead of 1 numbered i had two numbered cards. One Pizarro to 75, one Mazraoui to 15

I've seen another 1/1 of that same card, do they look different enough from other parallels to be 1/1's? I think they've maybe stamped the wrong set of cards 1/1, eg the cards that were meant to be /25 or /10 or something (as they seem red / orange in colour).

This could be a possibility but it's hard to determine, bc all parallels and autos have the same rainbow foil on them. The ones i have are different from other cards tho. The /99 have the blue background, /49 are greener than my 1/1s, /25 is purple, /10 is red, /5 has more of a rainbow background (based on opening videos on Youtube where some people had /5 or /10s). So the 1/1s differ from the other backgrounds. I'll link the promo 1/1 image of Matthäus and the background bown-ish seems very similar to these two i have. As there are noticeable differences to the other numbered backgrounds, i doubt a mis-stamp tho. More like a "The intern screwed up and printed too many"



EDIT: Tried to get a better picture without the rainbow shimmer of the foil. This doesn't look like any color used on a numbered higher than 1/1 to me. Clearly brown-ish:



I'll keep you all updated once i got a reponse from Topps

EDIT 2: I got a response from Topps. I'm supposed to send them both of the 1/1s together with a document that contains my name, delivery address and order numbers. Also the german phrasing was quite off in their response E-Mail. Guess they just wanna take them away from me. I'll respond and ask why i have to give up both cards, if they already sent my image to their production team.

100% i won't send them both cards back, that's for sure. If they want one back, sure thing. But this sounds like they wanna cover their asses bc of this mistake

Doesn’t look like this dupe 1/1 (3/1?) issue is the only problem with the set

Apparently 500+ boxes broken by a breaker/community and none of these parallels have shown up, nor have they appeared on any secondary markets

Woah, that's insane. Topps will need to invest this product heavily and make a statement on this.

I rewatched some german openings on Youtube and i saw none of the above cards as parallels either. Only as numbered autos

EDIT: Searched through german Ebay and found none of the players in your list either. What a mess

Realize it is a Topps screwup if none of these parallels ever made it into the product, and there may be a few diehard Koln or Frankfurt fans bummed to not get their Ellyes Skhiri /99, but the world might be a better place as a result.
