Fanatics and topps seem to screw up things all the time

But this has to be on purpose

Which is incredibly dumb

It just proves how much they don’t care

Imo

These are hits for 100s of people

Product is almost double cost. Gambling has taking over your hobby

Sorry just gets so dumb

Layton is opening 10-40 percent of your product runs ..

I mean what the flock are you doing ?

And to think I almost bought a case of this for old time's sake.

Yikes.

What does gambling have to do with bad collation?

I'm still getting a case. There are some important rookie cards in this and then you haver Ohtani in a Dodgers uniform. The collation doesn't bother me as long as the hits are there. Commons are cheap and you can get them all with one shipping charge of free ship on eBay. Certain SP's aren't that far off.

Overall I think the cards look great. The price is unfortunate but it will drop eventually. This has definitely got me excited for the Jacksons in Heritage High.

Heritage has definitely become a set only for the ultra nerds of the hobby. Not good when long standing breakers can’t figure out the details of the set.

Well, we all knew from the start that Fanatics didn't/doesn't care about product quality. None of this is really all that shocking....

I'm not breaking Heritage for the first time in a very long time. I stayed away from the initial stupid pricing and after watching breaks I don't even want it at my target price. Makes me sad as I was so looking forward to opening a bunch of it. But my moves are calculated, and this one doesn't make enough sense for me this year.

woof.
I warned everyone that the bottom card was another SP type at post 887. I only have 2 base sets out of a full case. Thanks Topps. I would have passed on a case had I known base sets would be this difficult to put together.

I'm curious about the composition of the full sheets and the number of them now. Standard was 132 back when the sets were 792 cards, so 5 total sheets.
Then there were multiplier iterations, so 660(x5) card and 528(x4) card sets over the vintage years. I know it may be more modern now but with this being a 500 card set with 100 SP's I wonder what the breakdown is.

Assuming 132 card sheets still:

3 Sheets= 396 cards, so 4 SP's of 1-400
1 SP Sheet= 100 SPs+32 Double Prints of others (Could be variations or inserts though)

Really no idea.

1975 is my favorite set. I collected it as a kid, I collected a PSA 8+ set as an adult, and I've been yearning for 2024 Heritage since 2002. But I don't think I ever really looked closely at the Lynn rookie. Peripheral vision told me that he was wearing a white Red Sox jersey or something, holding his right arm up. But no.

They actually just whited out the whole bottom of the picture below his chin. His cap's logo is very likely airbrushed, if the whole hat is not a fabrication. He may have been wearing street clothes given the collar. The enigma that is Topps never ends.

And speaking of the Lynn rookie, what is the deal with the new 1975 MVP card? Could they really not square up the snippet of the scan they took of the original card?

Sheets are either 100 cards (10x10) or 110 (10x11) now I think. Topps Baseball runs either 330 or 350 card Series. Heritage being 100 card sheets is highly likely. But I don’t know how they might have set up 425 base / 75 short prints, the format that ended several years ago now. 100 card sheet for the short prints would be easier, seems to me. HHN fits a 100 card model too.

There is a 2013 Heritage sheet on eBay right now - 100 cards.

Wait until Fanatics has it all. You think it's a disaster now.

Houdini is going to look at card totals for 11 case break and try to confirm or deny this phenomenon. Might just be true of certain skus and might just be a case run difference. Sounds like there are definitely some cards that were packed out in Hobby cases more than others, at least from early cases that have been broken in Quantity. This doesn’t necessarily mean they are short printed overall though. In fact, I have opened only 2 hobby boxes, 2 blasters, 2 hanger boxes and 3 Monster retail boxes and I need 14 more cards for my 400 card base set (82, 101-406, 408-500). None of the 14 I need are on Brent’s list and many of the ones I have triplicates of are on his list.

That being said, very likely that base cards overall were printed in very similar quantities, but likely packed out differently in different SKUs

I broke 3 cases, this seems to line up. Pulled 22 Elly, but only 9 Colton Cowser and 8 Yu Darvish for example.

Out of the 3 cases, 8 complete sets (6 cards short of 9) and 4 cards short of 2 Master sets. Singles are selling pretty briskly for me which makes the grind of sorting more palatable.

This awful coalition is no different then series 1

I opened 3 jumbo cases and had like 8 of some and 28 of others

And I would guarantee fanatics does this on purpose

In series 1 I remember Acuna was hard to hit in Jumbo but he landed regularly in hobby. As someone earlier mentioned I wonder if it’s just certain players appear more in certain skus

I have like 30 Henry Davis' left after making like 15 sets from series 1. I think this if far worse than series 1 due to the price point. I got series 1 relatively cheap. Just can fathom paying $95-$100 per box.
