Oh my. What a week! Its been said before, but people are sleeping on this set. At the end of the day this may very well be the greatest set of all time when you consider the number of RCs of so many stars, consistent design/layout, art work, low PRs and time commitment to complete.

Curious is anyone has purchased a print from Topps in 2024 that was released in 2023. If so, does the copyright say 2023 or 2024?

Easily the worst card in the entire product line so far.

Not because of the art, which is great. Just because it will forever exist and remind us of Juan's one year in the Bronx.

The artwork in this set has gone to another level. Parker might be my favorite card now. Angel totally captured Soto's Yankee vibe. Well done!

It really is insane. I've gone back to look at both releases multiple times! Parker has to be one of the nicest baseball cards ever created.

For Parker, I just noticed that the bat knob with the cobra on the card isn't the same bat as the fine print (because of the placement of the Pirates logo). Is this the first time something like this has happened in this set?

Good catch!

I would assume this is the first time something like this has happened.

Jared, I know you've talked about making adjustments to the art for the print, but I don't recall you having done so to this point.

The Cobra !! That artwork ! Wow just wow. Jarred, I'll even admit that I'm impressed with this Easter egg. One of your best works to date and an ideal selection. The Soto is perfect as well and love the background colors.

Impressive week. Thanks.

The Topps Living Set team deserves all the credit for that adjustment. The original painting looks like the print, with the cobra on the knob furtherest to the viewer's left. I fully expected it to be hidden on the card.

However, the graphics team (Julian, Jackie, and Kasey) made the edit that allowed the cobra to be visible on the card. A huge shoutout to them is well earned!

It is a unique edit among all the Living Set cards-vs-prints. I can't recall seeing a similar edit. Another fun wrinkle in the Living Set universe.

I'm very happy most everyone loves the work this week. I think Angel's Soto is golden! And I hope it's the big print run he's due for.

Dave Parker was a personal favorite for me to paint. There are so many great photographic references for Dave and his face lends well to portrait work. There were ˝ dozen alternate images I found online that I would have loved to paint of him. I was very close asking Topps if I could swap the approved reference image for one of those, which I don't think I've ever done since I've been on the set; maybe once. In the end, the Parker in his prime years was the right choice and I'm pleased with the final result.

I love weeks when we get some retired legends.

Here’s an opinion question for you Living Set diehards: Who is the best current player who has been playing since before the set debuted in 2018 who has yet to be featured on a card?

Been playing or been in the show consistantly? I mean Imanaga was on the BeyStars in like 2016?

Man I was going to say Tyrone Taylor but he debuted Sept. 7, 2019 ... so I guess I have to say Kyle Higashioka? The best answer I can come up with is Garrett Cooper on the Cubs? He's on the Cubs now? I can think of a bunch of pitchers like Drew Smyly & Tim Mayza but some of them have been in and out of the show.

Man, I sure hope someone can come up with a better answer than I did lol

Career wise I’d have to go with Marcell Ozuna ….getting thin.

Looking at Ozuna's 2024 stats, it seems like now would be a great time for him to be featured.

Ozuna has to be the answer or Josh Naylor. I figured Ozuna's issue may be his image from his domestic issue, but Aroldis Chapman was in the set early. Others I can think of are Miguel Rojas, Dan Vogelbach, Brandon Drury.

You’re probably correct re ozuna. Looking at pitchers, maybe David Robertson or Wade Miley.

I added this to my Suggestion Spreadsheet (shared with Topps) when you suggested it. Topps is listening, evidenced by Barry Zito making his appearance in the set this week. Great work again by Angel!

Zito looks great. It really does have that California vibe. Great selection as well, former cy young winner. I think there was an interview where Zito claims to have bid on his own cards listed on ebay.
