Quick question for the group:

When submitting cards for eBay auction, the site says "Suitable for single trading cards valued more than $50", but I see lots and lots of cards being auctioned that are no where near that.

Do you think they mean suitable because of the $3.50 minimum fee, or is there some minimum value rule that's just not being enforced?

Its just a recommendation.

has anyone ever submitted a regular base or insert card (ungraded) to COMC and when trying to price it you get a message saying 'This item must be graded or authenticated before listing for sale, Contact Support'?

Possibly family friendly issue? Support should be able to determine that.

Could be counterfeit or has an auto that is not certified by a reliable entity you need to show us the scan to be able to weigh in properly.

Yes, COMC has a list of certain sets / issues that need to be graded or authenticated in order to sell on COMC.

No minimum value. I've done several hundred auctions through COMC, and I do think it's the fees that make this a recommendation. Unless you're dying to get rid of a $10 card, don't auction it.

As an example - desert shield 1991s. I sent a few true commons that are now just permanently stuck in that category. Not worth grading and not worth shipping home.

Funny thing is a few of my batch did get listed without the flag. Maybe three out of 12.

I've been hampered by this as well. I think it started when they started submitting cards to CGC. Somewhere there's a specific list of cards which CGC doesn't grade, and that this somehow translated into a list of cards COMC won't accept anymore.

There are plenty of examples from some of these sets which appear to be grandfathered into the system. They'll still sell the ones on the site, but they won't take new ones unless they're "authenticated".

https://blog.comc.com/comc-supported-trading-cards/

It's been on longer than when they were grading. I've helped recommend commonly faked cards to be added to the list. Scroll down to "Must be Graded to be Listed on COMC:" section.

Of course with all the fakes on etsy, they should make it even more restrictive.
Example: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=348256

Just got mine so guessing some will be popping up.

Probably paying more in 'enhanced security' fees than the card is worth.

I’ve been having pretty good sales movement this week. Of course it helps having everything at the lowest price but I can’t complain.

I just noticed that there are 1,856 copies of the 1987 Topps Bo Jackson baseball card available lol. Just curious if anyone knows of any cards with more copies than that?

Nevermind, just saw that this is one of the search options. I've been on COMC for at least 15 years and never noticed that.

Used to be a Ziggy Palffy card in the lead for years, but then the marvel commons/ inserts from some sets/ had 6000 copies.

It's one of the best selling cards on the site, with over 4,700 copies trading hands in the past 4 years. I'll buy them all day long when I have credit to spend and the price is right.

Some of the cards with hundreds or thousands of copies available actually sell extremely well. Barry Bonds, and to a lesser extent, Mark McGwire from that same set are brisk sellers. You could put together a lot of any size 10, 100 or 1000 copies of the same card and sell them on eBay no problem.

I just responded along the lines: I've bought 4-card puzzle sketches on COMC multiple times listed as a single card. And if you search 'puzzle sketch' several come up, obviously transfers from epack. Here's one currently listed:

2019-20 Upper Deck Marvel Annual - Sketch Cards 4-Piece Puzzle Achievements #SKT4 - Dave Lynch /1
Courtesy of COMC.com

So...they never list 4-card sets as a single card? Which is what that is?

Will see what the response is, but it's doubtful Im going to be able to submit my puzzle sketch, which is a bummer. Unless they give me the go-ahead first. Good thing you said to contact first.
To follow up on this, I randomly got another response from COMC customer service. They said their first response was incorrect and that they in fact do accept multi-card puzzle sketches and will process them as 1 single card unit. So I will try to submit my Marvel 4-card puzzle sketch and see how it goes.

they always split puzzles that I sent. I wonder if they will reprocess puzzles that were already split.

Are epack transfers not instantaneous any more? Been waiting 2 hours for one to go through

Did you have the puzzles clearly marked as a single unit, like having them in a team bag with a note on it or something?

I want to send a marvel puzzle sketch, and it’s not a cheap one, probably $500-750 sketch, and would rather not deal with the hassle if the processers are going to separate it. This last email from customer service seemed like they definitely can treat them as a puzzle, but my concern is the actual processer won’t be on that same page. Even the Comc customer service seems confused on it.

Do epack cards get charged submission fees to transfer from upper deck to comc account?
