16,000 lbs of vehicles with the acceleration of a Lamborghini Huracán. Might as well make a quad motor Cybertruck and put wings on it.

The other issue early Tesla's had were the recessing door handles and the window drive units. Had almost every window motor and door handle replaced under warranty. The beauty of an EV is in the simplicity of the drive train. If you have a stable drive unit and battery, there is not much else that can go wrong. The CyberTruck may look completely different, but it is not as different as their other vehicles as you may think.

There will of course be a few annoying things, but Tesla has great service in my area and also will come to my house or workplace to fix most issues. I guarantee the roll cover will cause issues on these early models, just like the early falcon doors on the X. The only other new technology in the CyberTruck is the steer by wire that scares a lot of people. However, Nissan and Toyota have already been selling cards with steer by wire. It is only a big deal when Tesla does it and gives more fuel to the haters.
I hear you. I like Tesla and the cars. It's the fear of the unknown and Musk himself that keeps me away. I have a Camry Hybrid that gets really good MPG for now. I think a lot of folks would love to drive an EV but cost and uncertainty stop them. And for the steer by wire, I thought cars were like that for quite some time, people are afraid of that all of the sudden?

I like the intro video of the Cybertruck, where they had it outrun a porsche 911 in a 1/4 mile..... while towing a Porsche 911.

So the fastest a Porsche 911 has ever gone, was being towed by a Cybertruck.

The fastest Porsche 911 is the Turbo and that would be right around the same as the CyberTruck with a 0 to 60 time of 2.7 seconds. I think they used one of the models that is closer to 4 seconds. Still impressive though.

even if 50% drop off
Production keep them busy for the next three or four years with just the cyber truck

I can play these games as well. Want me to find a horror story of a F150 that had a engine issue after the warranty was up?

Edit - Two second search from the internet. Ford forums. "ford dealer is asking me to pay $15,000 for engine replacement and workmanship after warranty finished after 1 month."
Dealer prices, never go to a dealer unless under warranty or its something weird only they can really fix.

Can I get a new battery from a non-dealer at a better price?

I buy only used cars so could I buy a used Tesla and drive it to 200k without any major concerns? What do I look for?

Every carmaker is busy building their monster trucks and all have loooong waiting lists. The big difference is that their prices didn’t jump 50% after taking reservations.

Unless it's the Ford F-150 EV which they can't find anyone to want to buy it.

4 years later inflation ^^^^ and no other manufacturers have the HYPE of this truck.
But if you read it on the Internet, it must be true.
Tesla continues to set record numbers every quarter every year.
The fact is the legacy auto makers can’t compete with what Tesla is doing in the EV market, hence why they just gave up because lack of demand other then Tesla EV.

If my keen design senses are right, I'm holding out for the Aztek EV, not some stamped steel imposter.

Sure, the price hike must be due to inflation. You might as well blame all the Starlink terminals donated to the Ukraine.

The 8 year 125,000 mile drive train, which includes battery, is for the VIN of the car. They cycle tested the battery and they should last 300,000 to 500,000. Everyone is so worried about replacing batteries that may last 500,000 miles. Of course you can find stories of people having issues with battery packs at 50,000 miles, but there are people already over 300,000 miles with their original batteries. Tesla makes their own batteries, so they will be the cheapest to get them replaced at. If you like working on cars, don't buy an EV. It is that simple.

Reasons I won't buy a EV:

1. Expensive
2. Batteries are not designed for nothern winters.
3. Charging stations are not readily in many areas.
4. If in need of repairs need someone who will specialize in them

Prices will continue to drop and sodium batteries might be the answer to cold weather. Still in it's infancy for technology and infrastructure will continue to grow. It is truly remarkable how things have changed in 10 years.

For a truck that no one wants or people don't care about, you think about it all the time. Do you have dreams about the CyberTruck?

packman80, before you go out and buy an EV, I just wanted you to know that there are no pipes to swap for straight tubes.

Possibly a deal breaker for your entry into the EV market.

Just saw one on the road here in Maine. Thing is hideous, and a lot bigger than I expected. Wholly impractical I feel, but people can spend their money on whatever they want.
