In before the barrage of comments saying this is an ugly, overpriced set. Always been a big fan of this set. Feel it is under-rated. On-card autos, clean images, nice patches (though only player-worn), and cheaper relative price point to higher end sets like NT/Flawless/Impeccable. I've never bought a box, but love to pick up singles when I can.

I am a fan also. To buy as singles. Tough sell when it's one card and no autos of the top guys.

Do we know why they have stopped releasing all of a sudden? 2022 Contenders was released by this point last year, and I can't even find an announcement yet for 2023.

Edit: Although it appears they did presell some retail boxes for contenders so maybe I've just missed it.

Someone can correct me on this one but, as far as I'm aware, Fanatics already owns the printing facility.

If that's the case, it's probably more of a 'we'll get to your stuff whenever we get to it' kind of situation.

i find it moderately hilarious that there is only one factory in the world that can make a trading card. Like if you owned a business that could package $5 in paper into a $500 product, youd find a way to print it.

panini has been actively using new facilities, only 1 or 2 recent releases have come from gc. prizm bk was printed at a new facility, and it was a disaster. there are others who can do it, just not in the volume that gc does.

FOTL sold out at $679. This has to be of the the worst buys of all time. Last years FOTL has tanked over 50%. 2023 hobby cases sold on ebay at under $300 a box. FOTL is 1 single rookie patch auto card /60 or less. Even at the floor with tax what are your odds of coming out ahead on a box? 1-2%? Look at what Anthony Richardson patch autos sell for. Every card /60 is a loser. Most are 75%+ losers.

At the floor with tax a case for most people is around $14.5k a case. Is it possible to come out ahead on a case without hitting the Richardson 1/1 shield auto? Maybe those inserts you hit 1 per case you could hit a Stroud 1/1 if they are numbered that low.

I truly don't understand the chase here. This product is the epitome of degenerate gambling and the potential payout just isn't there in a high enough frequency to make it even remotely worth it at these prices. When these boxes were $100 (actual price direct from Panini in 2019) they were rough, now you're basically guaranteed to lose money. Apparently people don't care.

If there was ever a card made for breakers it is this.

2022 (I believe was Purdy-less?) Boxes can be had now for $249.

Still think some of the cards that come out are sharp but you could also get a $20 scrub. Actually most likely to do so. Got a Travon Gold /10 RPA a few months back for under a hundred dollars.

Nice looking cards on the singles secondary market.

I'm happy to let everyone lose money and then buy their cards for half price.
