Broncos sent QB coach Davis Webb on a chartered flight to bring Nix to Denver this weekend.

I'm glad to see Payton kept Webb on the staff. I think he's going to be a rising coaching star soon.

Here's the issue. It's the teams behind the Broncos that need a QB in some way, shape, or form.

Raiders for sure, Saints need a future one but won't address is this year most likely, Seahawks may make a surprise pick, and the Rams are rumored to be interested in Nix. Also, some smoke that the Cowboys may pull a shocker and draft Dak's replacement.

Out of all the above, I think Penix goes to Raiders, and so the Bronocos biggest competitor is the Rams. They have not had a first rd pick in 6 seasons. Coach is chomping at the bit to draft an offensive player, and Matthew Stafford is 38. It would not shock me if Rams would take Nix.
So if the Broncos trade back, they risk the Rams taking Nix. Then what? They are stuck with Stidham, Wilson, and Ben DeNucci? And they do not have a 2nd rd pick Broncos need to rip the band aid off at #12 and take Nix whether it looks like a reach or not, because if not, they risk grabbing a QB rd 3 to go along with the QB mess they already have on the roster. Because if Nix is there somehow when the Rams draft, I can not see them passing him by.

In the end, I predict it's all smoke and they simply take Nix at 12 and call it a day

So glad you were right on this one! I do agree that if the Broncos traded back all the way to 22, he most likely would not be there seeing how the draft went. Not sure how any of the 1st rounders will turn out, but Sean Payton seemed to get his guy, so that makes me feel good!
