Prices are always going to be a function of Demand and Supply.

The Supply is absolutely cooked, so right there this card is facing a lot of headwinds.

That leaves Demand. With the supply overhang, the demand has to increase by an order of manitude to get that price going back up.

We typically see demand for a hyped rookie wane as they enter their 2nd yr, not always, but often. We also see demand wane as the hobby moves on to the next hyped rookie. It is highly likely we'll see demand for Wemby stuff wane over the next 3-4 yrs as 1) other hyped rookies come into the NBA and 2) his team doesn't get that immediate success. That will be the time to start buying Wemby stuff. And even then, i'd focus on the lower pop stuff, not his Silvers.

Jumbo, for autos unless your going for clear /10 then hobby. Wemby stroud, holiday ff sp lots of nice chases. Someone in the baseball side already pulled a gold wemby

As an NBA fan I don't want a Wemby auto in a baseball jersey, much less one of him in a Yankees jersey. Worse than a "pajama"/non-license auto. Reeks of desperation and gets him in a non-photoshopped jersey, but at what cost?

I'm willing to bet when the dust settles at least 1.5x that many Wembys and Luka's in the finals right now.

Some of his stuff's actually down from what it was earlier in the year so that's also mildly amusing.

missing the point... a high pop count isnt a killer if the performance is there... if Wemby is MVP and takes the Spurs to the finals, it absolutely wouldnt be a surprise to see his silver prizm psa 10 climb back to $2K+ which is what nickha2 was alluding to

Not missing it. I addressed that already and said "I'm sure it will" as soon as he has playoff success in any form. Near term flippers and speculators make dumb decisions all the time based on hype factor. My point is long long term pop count does matter for perceptions. When the dust settles 20-25 years from now even if he duplicated MJ's legacy don't expect Prizm silvers to be 86 Fleer Jordans. Silvers these days have higher pop counts than bases from older Prizms so silvers aren't all created equal.

If you had Giannis and Wemby having identical legacies for instance, there's no way in hell Wemby's silvers would command the same prices Giannis' would long term given the massive print run disparity.

Wemby is different than most prospects when it comes to pricing.

There's a huge market cap that is missing because of the lack of NT, Flawless and Immac RPAs. Not to mention other autos.

Even if only 50% of that money goes into Wemby, it's huge.
