(Sportlots crew, if it's not already on the to-do list, a bulk update feature on the shipping screens would be swell).

Functionally, all that the order moving from pending to en route tells you is that the seller has marked your order as filled. For me, as a seller, I do this when your order has been packed into its envelope and that envelope is in the bigger shipment that I'm preparing to send to sportlots. Again for me, that package is either going out later that day or the next, depending on what time it is when I process orders. Then, from my location out west, it takes 4-5 business days for the box shipment to get to Green Bay, WI. Typically it seems like they get processed by the guys at Sportlots within about 2 days.

So, to sum up, ballpark time from an order going from "en route" to "in box" in this example is about a week, give or take. Obviously this'll vary between different sellers and given different factors.

Yes, when we get to rewriting the seller screens, there will be a single spot to add tracking for box shipments. That along with a number of other enhancements for Box shipping.

You can however take advantage of copy/paste and just paste the tracking number to each order until that enhancement is complete (it will be a while before we get to those screens).

Thank you for this detailed response.

When I send things to the box it means I am in no hurry for them.
That being said, if the seller forgot to ship my order, what is a good time frame to reach out to them?

Should I wait 2 weeks from "date filled"? 3 weeks?

For example, I currently have an order that was filled on 4/26. That feels like a long time ago.

I'm sure your buyers appreciate this. Kudos.

Although, I can see where this would be very hard for large volume sellers.

It's just annoying to have to add them 1 by 1 instead of a bulk add feature.

I usually keep it at exactly 2 weeks between when I send my customers orders to the sportlots box. For full disclosure, a few times a year, because of one circumstance or another on my end, it has extended a week further.

I think sellers typically ship to the box every 7-10 days (maybe out to 14 for some even). Add in the 3 days shipping, and the extra few days for Sportlots to log it in. I usually give people 3 weeks min before I start taking a look at things.

I've bought from lattacar dozens of times over the years with no issues.

The notice essentially said too many delayed shipments.

I really hope a) he/she is ok & not dealing with health/family things and b) this doesn't have anything to do with USPS delays

I had some box shipments from lattacar lately. The last one took a little longer but never know if it's on their end, USPS or Sportlots end.

Ran across a seller with box shipment of 99 cents for 1 card and $3.75 and up for 2+ cards. They aren't Canadian (doesn't appear to ship to Canada at all) so I'm not sure if they're just trying to make money on shipping or don't understand how box shipping is supposed to benefit customers. Sorry if this is a dead horse.

Meanwhile, I was down to waiting on one box shipment to take delivery but then of course made 2 more box purchases. I think I've maxed out the shipment at $12.00 so at least my average "forwarding charge" will come down.

Any sellers having problems with offers? I've had two in a row where I swear I said dent offers and within 3 hours the buyer purchased the card at heir offer price.

I guess I'll just raise my offer price limit.

I got a $50 offer on a $1,250 card. That's the only problem I have with offers on SL .

Is sportlots the right place for a card that expensive?

Lack of eyeballs as compared to eBay. I just dont think that people who are in the market for a $1,250 card think to even check sportlots for it.

No disrepect or ridicule to the site was intended, so I hope you didn't take it that way.

Serious question from me now. How many cards does the site have listed with a price tag of $1,250 or higher?

Ok.. that is a decent answer. I was hoping it wasn't because of fees. On a $1250 card, your Sportlots fees is $57.38 (or 4.59%). Even if you didn't sell another card on the site that month. On eBay (if I am correct) the fees would be $165.63 (or 13.25%).

Note, on Sportlots, you also need to pay the PayPal fees (assuming the buyer used PayPal for payment) which would be approx $41.50 in additional fees.

If you are listing in a fixed priced format, it really doesn't hurt to list on both and hopefully you sell on Sportlots and save quite a bit on fees.

There is 70 cards currently on Sportlots with a selling price at $1000 or more. I think there is a big misconception that Sportlots fees are much higher than eBay when that is not the case.

Because of your tiered fee system (which I like) I know it would not be the fees that make it prohibitive, and as you have illustrated above, sportlots' fees for an item of that size would make it beneficial for a seller to list higher priced items there.

I’ve sold over 200K cards since 2005 on sportlots. I think the highest price I’ve ever sold was 600 - I routinely list my higher value stuff on both eBay and sportlots. Have sold many more on eBay, but I’ve been happy with what I’ve sold on sportlots.

I am not vigilant enough to cross-list on two sites at the same time. For sure I would screw that up sooner or later.

lattacar has been a great seller for years, but recently some things have changed.

doesn't respond to messages
long ship times without explanation
not uploading tracking
listing errors

When I was communicating with sportlots about the issues back in March, it sounded like my experiences were unfortunately not unusual recently. I have to think there is something personal going on. It's not like they are being deliberately bad as far as I can tell, but something is happening that messed up the consistency and it became a headache for sportlots (after an extended period of this), I am pretty sure.
