That's an awesome find. Very kind of you to help out your colleague/friend. Best of luck on the journey!

You literally replied to me first. I did not “come at you.” I just gave a very simple reply as to why I said what I said. You were the one had arms all flailing on two consecutive posts towards me.

This is literally all I said:

No, the rest of them were going to end up in a box at a garage sale.

And then there would have been a thread here from someone celebrating their steal of a deal and a bunch of people defending that poster, saying the seller easily could have looked up the values. Coincidentally, had the OP not knowing the seller, that's what this thread would have been

My gawd man, those Mantles, Jackie's ,Paige, Banks RC....some of those look Near Mint or better. If they are legit...that's house money....definitely worth a flight to PSA for a walk-in on many of those.

There are about 15 that should go to PSA IMO. Maybe send the lesser stars to SGC for a faster turnaround to sell more quickly to fund the grading for the others? Its going to take a lot of work but the journey is going to be cool. I know you are co-workers but I hope you are compensated by percentage or straight trade

I quoted your post because my advice addressed a point you made. I didn't come "arms flailing", I just gave detailed responses. Don't be so sensitive.

I have absolutely no idea how you can see it that way.

Another benefit of going PSA is that they can go straight to Vault and Auction without ever touching them again. They just need to collect a check.

What cards look Near-Mint to Mint? Can you post a picture of the 53 Mantle particularly? The 54 Bowman Mantle and many of the 54 Topps look crazy good.

Ok, the 53 doesn't look as great as I thought but its still worth a few grand and honestly, I want to take a damp microfiber cloth and wipe away the grime on it. Haha. The Paige looks like it could take a dip in distilled water to get that staining out but you could go from a grand to $0 pretty quickly with that. Whatever you all decide to do, I'm glad it wasn't sold for $100 at the garage sale!

That's fine. I have no idea how you can think I came at you "arms flailing." I guess we clearly have just misunderstood one another. All I was trying to do was provide OP with detailed information they were asking for. Maybe I could have been more tactful. I just see those broad "anyone who says anything other than PSA is wrong" posts enough that I felt it important to address it. And when I did, all you could say was, "well OP doesn't want the real answer, just my broad brushstroke," instead of a thoughtful response. I felt that was snarky so I shot back. I'm sorry that I ruffled your feathers.

Awesome cards and glad you were able to connect with her before she made any mistakes. If you are anywhere near Northern Virgina the Chantilly show is this weekend, PSA and SGC will have a booth accepting cards. SGC is the fastest and less expensive way to go with grading. Who knows, PSA may like the backstory and give the family a discount on grading.

I would comp all the cards then cost to grade and estimate ebay seller fees and make her a good offer on all of them if I were you, somewhere around 60-75% of total minus the above fees. The work to make auctions and ship all of them will be a good bit if you are interested. If your not maybe put them all up for sale here as a bundle to save on costs.

If you don't have the time, Chasing Cardboard may be a good idea if there is a story behind the cards.

It's not that much work. Half a day prepping the submission, then a bunch of waiting. Selling them would be a chore but plenty of places would handle that too.

I agree, its not much work, at this point its just a matter of getting them in the hands of PSA, having the funds to pay for the grading, send them to the PSA Vault and have them put them right to auction

What are your thoughts of selling raw vs selling graded?

I have a “decent” offer for all of them raw and not sure if I could be leaving a lot of $$ on the table
